Melanie Rawn and her Exiles series pisses me off too. Its been like 15 years.

The very least the asshole could do is put up a new sample chapter, the one that's up now has been up close to six years.

From the comments section of GRRM's blog, some good news and bad news:
http://grrm.livejournal.com/131900.html?thread=8572220#t8572220 "Are any of these chapters getting bumped to Winds?" The good news is that he has written nearly 1200 manuscript pages. The bad news is that if he thinks there is a possibility it could end up longer than ASOS (which was 1520 manuscript pages), it means he could possibly have 300-400 more pages to write. So the release of ADWD does not appear to be imminent. |

Since I now care more about the work of Patrick Rothfuss, Martin can die of a heart attack and I'll finish his series in my head. Or he could die of a heart attack and that dude who wrote the new Wheel of Time book can tidy up after him.

I don't think we will see the book in 2010. The cynic in me says that it will come out sometime in early 2011, when the HBO series is scheduled to premiere (if it gets picked up). I think they would love to have a new ASOIAF book to coincide with the TV series.

I bet the networks that run the Christmas specials would love to have Santa appear this year, but that's not going to happen now, is it?? IS IT?? |

JeffMaster wrote: If I remember correctly, over three years ago he was telling us how he already had over 800 manuscript pages finished. That means in three years he's written a little over 350 pages, which comes out to about 2.5 to 3 pages per week. At that rate, he'll hit the 1500 page mark sometime in 2012 or 2013. |

Since we're waiting for Martin to finish ADWD, there is plenty of time to read Brandon Sanderson's (AKA the dude who wrote the WoT book) Mistborn trilogy. Clearly, he's the only writer out there these days getting shit done anyway.

Rothfuss's work is art. I was reading some of his blog and he takes his writing VERY seriously. He would make a great OT poster.

I'll check out Rothfuss in the meantime.

I just checked out the Rothfluss book from the library...
How can you not just automatically like this guy? I mean... automatically? ![]() ![]() To add to the GRRM hate: GRRM has used Rothfluss's quite funny comic strip in his blog and suggested that people harrassing him for his 5 year delay is the same as people harrassing Rothfluss for his 2 year delay... Fuck knuckle. |
