His artistry and musicality is a million times better than anyone else's. He just doesn't always land the jumps cleanly.

My little cousin is running the Torch Relay on the opening day of the Olympics, coming up to it's last leg. I'm so excited for her. That's very cool! I'm looking forward to the curling too, hoping there will be some on at times other than 4am. Anyone know if any of the weekend paper inserts are supposed to have Olympic schedules in them? |

Curling is the shit. For some reason, I found it entertaining during the 2006 Olympics.

I have actually curled. Big place for it in Hibbing, Dylan's home town. Like an iced-over bowling alley. All the kids are there, too. A lot of chicks.

The nice things being in Canada is we get to watch curling all the time, not just during the Olympics. This afternoon is the Final for the Scotties and then after the Olympics finish we still have the Briar and the Worlds to come, plus all the Curling Tour stuff they televise.

Is this going to be the worst olympics ever? The today show folks weren't even wearing coats it was so warm. No snow for the ski events. Fail

Vancouverite here as well...
Also I'm in one of the parts of the Opening Ceremonies and have been doing a poop load of long rehearsals over the past few months and especially this week; I've also seen almost the entire show and I have to say it'll be good! Everyone watch the opening!

meatball77 wrote:There is snow. All of the alpine events are taking place an hour and half from Vancouver in Whistler. Their base is 105 inches of snow (11 feet of snow.. think that will be enough) And the local mountain has snow, just higher than the events for snowboarding, so they are shipping it down the mountain. That is the fantastic thing about Vancouver, you can be out biking in your shorts this week, get onto your sailboat for a trip around the bay, and then grab your skis or snowboard and be up on a mountain in 20 min to play in the snow. |

cindidindi76 wrote Thanks, Cindi! It WAS cool. ( um....the uniform doesn't actually fit anymore, though. shhhhh. ) And Heliox is right about Cypress Mountain, where the snowboard events take place. Current snow conditions: 227 cm @ mid-mountain, which is just about 7 and a half feet deep.

If I were ever in a plane crash and there was no food to eat I'd be salivating looking at those legs.

terrysucks wrote:Actually agree with that one, but who would be looking up there? Speed skaters have the best butts and legs on the planet. Straight or gay, ya gotta love the amount of beautiful bodies in lycra/spandex. Check out the skeleton athletes. Plus you know they are thrillseekers maximus.. who goes down an icy race course face first??!! ![]() Homorazzi (a Vancouver based site) has some great profiles of Olympians: http://www.homorazzi.com/...eam-usa-hot-olympic-men/ And lucky me, I am right next door to a party place for some of the Olympic champions. I will be able to walk out my door and be about 20 feet away from the partiers out on the deck. |
