O.M.G., a whitebread jump roping crew that has a name derived from Latin? Win.

Wow the judges made the right decision for once....Season 5 is proving to be the best season since Season 2.
The only thing I hate about this season is Omarion, the guy is fucking annoying and does not know dance. Get rid of him and this season will be great. The jumprope crew is my favorite of the ones this episode too. |

Every single crew on last nights episode >> Every crew last week except Swagger Crew
They should go back and eliminate Jungle Boogie and Royal Flush and just call it a day and put through the other two crews they eliminated last night. The dancing tonight was amazing, after the lackluster premiere, the East really brought it last night. I'm excited now! |

Yea, Draztik was really good too! I wish they would have made it over Saltare.
When it comes to the jump rope crew, I feel like their shtick is going to get old really fast. They remind of Dynamic Edition from Season Three. Everyone thought their little country tap think was new and cool for their first two or three performances, but as the season went on when they really showed they had no choreography and the tap thing was all they could do, they got boring and repetitive. I feel like that's going to happen with Saltare. You could tell their choreography was sub-par at best and they heavily relied on the jump rope aspect. One of the judges already mentioned it last night and it was just their first performance. I still feel like Draztik should have made it in over them. Oh, and I did agree with the judges - Staic Noyze does remind me of Fanny Pak! |

Question about the asian girl on Blueprint; wasn't she also on SYTYCD Canada? She never made top 20, but in S1, I thought I remembered a girl who looked like her (and had a similar sound T name) who was heavily featured during finals week because she hurt her ankle or something and decided to press on, and made it through several rounds before being cut.Wow, you are right. She was the girl that had that injured ankle during SYTYCD Canada. Too bad she didn't make the top 20, because I bet she would have some freaking amazing solos. |

Legendary Seven - meh, I wasn't a fan at all. First of all it's rude for two members of Status Quo to come back. Second of all, it was all tricks, barely any dancing. My least favorite of the night.
DraZtik - I agree with Lil Mama & JC. It wasn't a bad performance, but it was pretty bland. Real similar to Ghost (except much better dancers and not as awkward to watch.) Their performances were a little sloppy at parts but I liked them. Blueprint - <3 they're gonna be good. Static Noyze - <3 they're gonna be good too. I hate Omarion now. Saltare - EXTREMELY mixed on them. For one, they appealed to me cause I <3 Latin (lulz troynuncdicit=Latin) and the jump ropes were cool. However, the jump ropes were a big distractor so we really have no idea how good DANCERS they are. I hope it's not like Dynamic Edition & they start to get old & fade out, but right now I can't think good/bad about them. Overall: definitely better night than South. And lulz at the first go to commercial sequence saying ABDC Regionals SOUTH hahaha. |

So far I kinda have a feeling Swagger Crew or Fanny Pak 2.0 group will win though.

littltimmy wrote:I am happy you are obsessive littltimmy! And you are correct, it is her. She was great and was pulling for her to make top 20, and disappointed when I didn't see her in season 2 (that I remember). Her name is Thien Linh Truong, and is an original member of the crew. .....Cut to Leah talking with Montrealer Thien-Linh Truong. The day before she fell off a step and sprained her ankle. She does the disco routine with the ankle taped and does it well enough to make it through, but with the warning from Jean Marc, “you have to step it up.” Cut to Leah being taken to hospital. Later a doctor examines her and tells her if she continues she could permanently damage herself.... Great logo. Haven't seen the show yet, but can't wait to see Thien, Vincent and yes even Nicolas (hopefully sans cheesy grin). BTW.. Liltimmy or anyone, are we able to vote online on Much for our favorite crew?? Cuz if so, gotta give the Canuck crew some support.

Finally got to see the show today. I really liked Static Cling, but they are no Fanny Pak. They will have to show some innovation in their storytelling/choreo as FP did for them to rank with the great ones.
Blueprint was tight. And Salteens were interesting for about 10 seconds. No way near as musical or interesting as Breaksk8 or the cloggers. |

I know Saltare will most likely run into a lot of problems later on, and their whole shtick will probably get old, and the legitimacy as a dance crew is questionable, but for what it was, that performance had a lot of "wow" moments. I wonder if they have more unique stunts to show off, since they did quite a bit in that one routine, and so I hope they didn't use up most of what they have in one week.
Blueprint was very clean, clever, and tight, and I think the judges were right that they will have to incorporate a few more stunts (from b-boy Nicolas) later on to get more wow factor (similar to how We are Heroes only started using their gymnastic skills in week five, in their second visit to the bottom). Static Noise was... nice. I haven't watched previous seasons (except 4, and I've seen a few episodes of 3), so I don't have as much knowledge of previous crews as other people here. The whole Fanny Pak thing goes mostly over my head (I saw one performance from them). I think DraZtik and meh 7 did not deserve to move on, although I agree with whoever said that they should just dump Royal Flush and keep DraZtic. Omarion is also a terrible judge. And Heliox, where did you get that text recap? CTV? I wonder if she did audition for S2. Concerning some of the dancers we got, I would think she didn't. I'd also be surprised if we were not allowed to vote for Blueprint through much music or something: think of the support they would get. And they actually seem like very talented Canadian dancers this time around, unlike a certain top 20 from a certain recent season of a certain dance show. |

Found the information about Thien originally on the About 8 site, and when you mentioned the ankle I searched and found the article here:
http://canadiantvrecaps.b...an-dance-canada-top.html Much Music has the photos and interviews from the show, and is interesting to hear Blueprint talking. They were recruited for the show, and the show got them their working visas and gave them their new look. I usually HATE recruited people, but in this case I am very happy that they made the show. I would imagine none of the crew would have thought they would be even eligible to apply if they weren't recruited. Also, I hope someone tells the crew that their new look that ABDC provided is not purple, but that their jackets have been dyed and are the same blue tinge that you would see on a real blueprint. |

troynuncdicit wrote:I completely agree with everything you said. Saltare I liked, but in reality, I don't want them to go far. I liked their performance, but this is supposed to be a dancing show, not a Jump-roping Competition. If they incorporate more dancing which is actually good, I will like them a LOT more. But I doubt that that is gonna happen. |

The problem with the Salteens is I think most moves will be done on a similar beat. They will have difficulty changing rhythms and speed. Cool tricks, but the monotonous rope speed will get tiresome very very quickly.
My guess for next season ... a team of rhythmic gymnasts. |

It's also possible that they will do some performances without the jump ropes or without the jump ropes throughout. We are Heroes specialized in "popping", but that didn't mean that all of their performances were popping from start to finish...
