And his response at the Reunion, when Probst asked him about his (non-existent) social game - "I DID play the game socially - with Mick, Natalie, Shambo, Jaison". Idiot. Only two of those people were on the jury (and one of them still didn't vote for you). It's the REST of the jury he should have been thinking about in terms of how he related to them.
So for him to say now that he played a "perfect" social game just shows that he still doesn't get how much he sucked at one of the most important components of it. |

Think about it - he'd be the perfect goat to take to the F2. I'd accept the alliance and then let him be a total dickhead to everyone, and have his camera whore 100 confessionals while I actually, you know, played the game and built some good relationships, just so I could win the $1 million AND the title of Sole Survivor. Just like Natalie did.

He had one of the best premerge games. He got rid of everyone suspicious of him and left the people that all liked/trusted him. After he found the 2nd idol, his game went downhill. He effectively got himself to the final tribal council but his arrogance skyrocketed which led to his downfall at FTC. Natalie was social and friendly with everyone but she just did whatever Russell told her. If Russell made a wrong move her game was over, so I don't really give her that much credit. She's not the least deserving winner but she's in the bottom half.
That being said, I think the best survivor contestant in Samoa is Brett. Put him in any season and he will go far, everyone loves him and he flies underneath the radar. He's also a very capable challeneg competitor. He was closer to winning Samoa then Russell was. He barely lost the final immunity which if he won, I think it would have went 6-2-1. With Sham and Mick for Russ, Jaison for Nat, and everyone else for Brett. Russell would have to change his full aftermerge game to win with that jury. Brett just had to edge out Russell in the last challenge.
