Vh1 doesn't want to air it and they basically have all of the power. So this show will never make it to air. They also cancelled Meet Market which was supposed to be a dating show that was going to take the place of I Love Money 3. Vh1 and 51 Minds may be done altogether. With them trying to air other reality shows more often and just announcing more movies being shown on the network with the help of Queen Latifah that leaves very little room for 51 Minds. They remind me of the way game shows were organized way back in the 50s. I know they are nothing like those shows. But it's just that there is nothing new about them. They flollow the same old tired formats that all the I Love Money shows fave followed. For crying out loud! We just want something new! Is that so much to ask for? Estee de Tabernac! Moedi Colisse! Give us a break please! Please! It can't be that difficult to add some interesting wrinkles.

She was so much better than New York in Flavor of Love. I don't understand why NY got her own shows but Hoops didn't. I guess the producers figured that NY would lose her temper and blow up which would make for good TV while Hoops might be more attractive - but more boring. A real shame as far as I'm concerned. Oh well.

If its not broken, don't fix it.

I think spending a night out with Hoops would be more entertaining than anything you can imagine with NY. But, you are quite right about an entertaining TV show. Hoops just couldn't make an entertaining TV show. NY is such a train wreck / catastrophe that if only they would have structured the show a little differently, it could have been a lot more entertaining. For example, if they would have required her mother to intereact with members of the public and awarded NY money depeending on how much those people liked her mother, and maybe given here a large random amount of money ... Like maybe ten times during the show when the mother didn't know about it and NY couldn't talk to her about it ... if a member of the public reacted in a postive way to her mother, they would award NY $100,000 ... but if they react in a negative way, she would lose the money, that might be the start of an interesting show. It could be very entertaining because the audience knows how hateful that mother is and they know that the public would never react positively to the mother on a consistent basis. So, if there was a large amount of money on the line, seeing NY lose her mind because her mother cost her $100,00 or even maybe a million dollars, would be fabulously entertaining! Obviously I don't have all the details figured out. But by getting the mother and daughter to face off several times over large sums of money could be very very entertaining. Who cares about the format of the damn show? I doubt the producers do, they almost seem to be making fun of the format with the lame ass challenges they come up with. I watch for the drama the show provides and to see 17-19 outrageous personalities from some of the craziest reality shows of all time come together in a giant STD explosion. This is why people watch, not for the format of the game, I think the producers know this as well.

Oh well. Yea it's all about entertainment value. The producers did know that NY would blow up and cause confrontations like she did on FOL. That's what brings in the ratings. While Hoopz may be more attractive and sane, that doesn't equal ratings which is what the producers are after, ratings.
