As for the show that launched him, “I hope my success on Idol can be seen as a symbol of ongoing change,” he says. “They’ve had contestants on the show who have either been gay or seemed gay but they didn’t get very far, but I don’t think that will be the case anymore. WHAT? No one has been officially out until after the show and there was already a gay man who made it to second in the second damn season. Why does this idiot think he is some pioneer on Idol and in music just because he is gay? I don't think he has done the gay community any favors. His approach is not one that will change any minds. All he has done is reinforced stereotypes. |
