What the fuck is this finale? From saving the world to saving a shitty carnival? What the fuck?

LOL "Volume 6: Brave New World".
Yet another anti-climactic finale. Basically, Claire gave a pep talk and convinced the circus freaks to leave. This is very nearly the same place they had Sylar last year, except now in his own body. Next year they will explore how he will balance his good and evil natures. I love that they are smack dab in Central Park and there's not a cop in sight. But it was a 'gas main rupture' so everybody should believe that with no questions asked. Again, how does the public not know about 'specials' after all this time, after all of the absurd plot twists on this show? |

Fuck I hate NBC for being so shitty that a Monday primetime show that has sunk under a 2 in the demo lately looks good for renewal.

Good. God.
I haven't watched this since the season premiere. I was shocked at how bad it's gotten. |

It's sad that I'm looking more forward to JohnnyWalker's (yes?) write-up of the episode more than I was looking forward to the epi itself. It felt like a possible series finale to me, but thats what you get when you think youll be cancelled.

This show has the worst finales. A bunch of characters assemble to do one pointless thing. I know one shouldn't ask questions, but why was Sylar even necessary? All he did was distract Doyle ... Emma took him down when he lost focus. Any other hero could have finished him off while he was down. I'm not sure the best way to encourage viewers to come back is to end with all the same characters featured throughout the show's dismal decline repeating the ending of an earlier season where the ratings consistently plummeted. And apparently none of the characters remember that going public ends in disaster. I wish I could forget earlier seasons so easily.

When Nathan had the government hunting down people the average person on the street did not know what was going on. Claire tonight changed things where now the rest of the world knows what is going on. I thought it was funny seeing 65 year old Charlie. Clever way to right her character off the show. I do like the show but yeah the season 1 audience is long gone. I really thought Sylar was just going to kill Samuel and steal his power. I am surprised that they did not go that route. It will be interesting seeing Sylar hunt down evil people next season.

It just didn't feel like a Heroes finale without Nathan there to die for us.

I am TOTALY embarrassed to admit this, but I loved LOVED the final scene where the cameras zoomed up on Claire and she said her name and blah blah. I just really liked it. It seems like they set it up so that if this is a series finale, it was wrapped up. If it doesn't come back, we get to imagine what happens to the Specials. If it DOES come back, then at least Claire finally did something.
Like a previous poster said, when Nathan was sending out the troops after the Specials, the average person had no idea. Now they will know about the Specials. The finale itself was pretty boring. I mean, we built up for 17 episodes of Samuel saying he had a plan for.....well, nothing. At least we got to see a bunch of powers being used. I still hate Hiro, but he said he had no more quests, so hopefully that means we will see less of him next season. Nothing really happened this season. The last 10 minutes of the finale had more story progression than the past 17 episodes. I'm just glad that Claire finally did something instead of just whining.....and I love that Noah didn't stop her. Hopefully, since they've written off Nathan and Mohinder, we'll see less of the Petrellis and fucking Hiro next season. Noah mentioned that the Company was still around, so obviously, agents will come after Claire next season (if there is one.) At any rate, I don't know why, but I loved that final scene. :) |

I liked how all the other characters were all saying "WTF is she doing?" But yeah, it was pretty much the only highlight of the episode.

Bravissimo!
Now that's what I call a season finale, ladies and gentlemen. I was shocked beyond belief when a humbled and near-death HRG had his glasses removed before being spirited up a septic tank opening by none other than our favorite water-logged hottie, Tracy, only to return to his mission of tracking the head circus geek without missing a beat. The new and empathetic Sylar is a breath of fresh air, who now realizes his goal in life is not to kill and steal the power of others like him, but to perform bondage on them in a heroic gesture. The final confrontation between Peter and carnival Teabag was simply astounding as the ground rumbled underneath their feet for a good 48 second while they battled it out by throwing dirt on each other with their minds. Ultimately, Samuel realizes he's defeated as he drops to his knees and in the middle of Central Park and is immediately mugged by a park denizen as our heroes look on in pity and remorse. Finally we were given closure to the Hiro/Charlie storyline as Hiro discovers Charlie in the same hopsital he was in, only now she's a decrepid old sack who lived a very long life. Hiro, realizing he can't tongue this version without vomiting decides to go back in time to hook up with the younger version but when he sees she lived a long, happy life as a welder decides against it and goes off with Ando on further adventures and to explore their latent homosexuality. Of course, what would Heroes be without a cliffhanger, and boy what a cliffhanger it was with Peter ignoring Sylar's needy plea for approval as he watched Hiro and Ando watching HRG who in turn was watching his own daughter reveal to the world that ferris wheels are indeed the most dangerous rides ever. |

Just a silly question... what ever happened to the symbol that used to be on all of the Heroes?

Again, why didn't Noah just call in the Haitian to stop the whole thing? Does he only call the Haitian for important stuff, like scaring college coeds?
And didn't Sylar kick Doyle's ass twice before? Once in the company building and once when he came back to the circus, so why was he powerless to do anything against Doyle this time?

In fact, after four seasons of sloppy writing with dozens if not hundreds of open displays of abilities, only blind and deaf people would be under the illusion. Of course, this is a world where hundreds of people can attend a carnival in Central Park with nary a cop in sight, even after a 'gas main break'. The 'averages' in this world are apparently all idiots. Maybe being 'special' here is simply having a clue?NlGHTCRAWLER wrote:I was thinking about the season finale with Nathan about to go public.
