I think Australia and Samoa were heavily influenced by religion but it was never shown. It would explain that semi-irrational decision of Ogakor to flip back and forth, save Elisabeth and Rodger (whose bond was also based on religion), and maybe even part of Colby's decision to save Tina.

Discussing Americans' religious beliefs is kinda boring. You're either hardcore Christian, Christian-lite, or technically Christian but don't give a crap. The latter two can also be known as Catholic. I don't even know the difference between Catholic and Christians, I just know most Catholics take religion with a grain of salt, but go by that label as a technicality so they won't go to hell if there is such a thing. At least that's how it is in Canada. Mormon is just a more retarded version of Christianity. And Jewish seems like an ethnic label more than anything. Most Jews I've come across were atheists or borderline atheists.
