That doesn't mean I respect her as a player though. As a character, I rank her right up there alongside Crazy Matt. A train wreck, and unintentionally entertaining as hell, but in no way had any idea what she was doing out there.

^agreed. I loved Lill as a character. Like you said, she was such a glorious train wreck that you had to enjoy her sooner or later. Whether she wanted to or not, she was at the epicenter of every single thing that happened after the merge. Pearl Islands wouldn't have been the same without her.

Well for one thing she had the annoying trait of talking in the 3rd person.
She cried too much. She would have been the forgotten scout leader if not for the twist. Apparently she was not a fan of the game, had basically zero strategy of her own making, until the ouster of Darrah, Burton if you're stretching it (but that was actually Sandra getting the remaining girls to go along). She was afraid of hurting people's feelings and looking bad to others. Most players thought she was dumb, too nice and not worthy of their respect. She forgot about making a numbers alliance in Morgan and thought it best to recruit people for her scout troop in Ohio (I heard she signed Jeff). Oh, and she couldn't tie a fisherman's knot. Other than the above, I can't think of a thing. |

Lill is the Sugar of the pre-ASS seasons. Accidental strategist who thinks they're a good person, but is really kind of nuts. I thought she was OK.. felt bad for her, but she was such a push over. |

I can understand why people don't like Lill, but I'm a big fan. Probably because so many other people in Pearl Islands are viewed with such great esteem now that it gets really goddamn annoying. I don't give a shit about Fairplay, Rupert is a stupid oaf, and WHY IS SANDRA SO EFFING POPULAR!?! She's an obnoxious bitch!
Seriously, I thought Lill was a pretty good player. Completely clueless at the start, but she picked it up quite a bit by the end. |

I liked Lill because she was good at challenges. That's all.

Of course it is. Personally I don't think he should be saying stuff like that, as the host, but it was probably his worst nightmare that one of the Outcasts came back and actually had a chance to win the game. The producers probably expected the Outcasts to come back and muck things up for a couple of votes, but to have one of them actually win? Now you're talking potential lawsuit fuel.
She can't be a better player than Sandra. Sandra won the jury vote. |

I like Lill but her winning would not have been good . She was already voted out once. 2nd was good enough. I am thrilled she did get 2nd as her and Sandra make up the funniest final 2 this show has had. They are so different as well.
But in all fairness to Lill, yeah maybe it was her fault she was voted out third but it was not her fault she was an outcast. At least she tried to fix to her mistakes when she came back and actually played. If I was an outcast I would feel undeserving to be there and not even sure how to appraoch anything. Lill took it as her first day. So good for her |

I think, given what she had to work with (the Outcast twist, plus perpetually being on the outside of whatever alliance she was in), she did absolutely the best that she could. That being said, she had no chance of winning because nobody respected her. The problem was that everyone that offered her an alliance took the mentality that she should be happy to settle for fourth or fifth because she was already voted out once, and then resented her for actually wanting to keep herself in the game.
And, truthfully, in that final immunity challenge, winning it even though she knew she was going to be taken by either Fairplay or Sandra, making Fairplay her bitch in the physical challenge, and then taking Sandra over him? Fills my heart with a little love for her, I must admit. I will say, though, that Lill might have had a slight chance against Fairplay had she taken him... that is, Lill would have had the votes of Rupert, Sandra, and Christa for sure. I am not certain that Fairplay would have been able to prevent himself from acting like an attention-grabbing jackass, even with a million dollars on the line. If he played it straight, played it conservatively, and pointed out how well he played, he would win for sure... might even get Christa's vote for that matter to win 5-2. But if he grandstanded, chose to make an ass of himself, and valued the exposure and the limelight more than the million dollars, I think it's entirely plausible he could have blown a vote he needed from Darrah or Tijuana. I imagine he would probably pull it out, but I don't believe that it is entirely impossible for him to blow it.

Lil did the best with what she had been given her. Her returning was part of the game. It's not right to say she doesn't deserve to make it to the end. Yeah she spent 10 days out of the game mentally, but she still was living in filth and her old clothes the entire time. It doesn't matter how she got her votes to return, she earned them and took her second chance seriously. She didn't roll over and let them vote her off again, she busted her ass to get in the majority for every vote.
For someone that was such a goat, why did they try to vote her off at the last few tribal councils? Christa, Burton, and Darrah all tried to get her voted off from the F6 to the F4. She was a real threat to win the game until the jury didn't have the balls to admit someone who played the game for 29 days deserved to win over someone who played for 39 days. But to be fair, what constitutes "playing" the game? Tons of people argue Neleh didn't start playing the game until the F9 and thus didn't deserve to win over Vecepia, who claims she was playing from day 1. I guess Danni didn't deserve to win the game, she gave up at the merger when she was out-gunned and left it up to god. Bob doesn't deserve it either, he was never playing the game. I guess Earl shouldn't either, he was in cruise control to the end of the game, same with Brian Heidik. The list goes on and on with people who just gave up playing and got carried to the end or put it in cruise control, having no need to play the mindgames to the end because they were in complete control already. Lil owned the game from day 19 to day 39. She deserved to win just as much as Sandra. |

Yeah, I'm tired of the "She was voted off once" argument too. If Rupert had been voted off pre-merge then came back via the outcast twist and won, we all know Probst and the average viewers would've called the outcast twist brilliant.
