That challenges which run long put a huge burden on him because it prevents him from doing other things he "needs" to do before the next TC or whatever. That's why one-shot arrow shoot, one swing TBall, bowling, etc. have become the challenge standards. His personal needs are more important than a challenge which actually challenges the competitors or has anything remotely related to a survival skills or is actually entertaining to the viewers. Also, on the Early Show when they were giving Heidik the check, Chen-bot was like, "What are you gonna do with the money?" This is real life now."

All that aside though, I wouldn't be shocked if I had seen Sally as a hero. She was a challenge beast and I remember one obstacle course where she outlasted everyone apart from Terry and was seconds away from beating him and winning immunity. Plus, she was possibly the luckiest contestant in Survivor history and had been saved by chance so many times that you couldn't help but root for her. I was sad when she was voted off.

Maybe they are all those things because they are all you focus on editing/casting/SEG/host? Ever think about that? The way he says with fact that Tom is the greatest winner ever is mind-boggling. I honestly think MB/JP/SEG feel that alpha males are what Survivor is all about--which is ironic considering they are usually the least dimensional of all the players. There's no complexity, no struggle, nothing. That's boring and if they had an entire season of that gameplay Survivor would have been canceled by now.

In the Pearl Islands one, he says he regrets the Outcast twist and that Andrew should have made it further. Even though I am one of the few that like Andrew, Pearl Islands probably wouldn't have been half as good if it wasn't for the Outcast twist.
