And it was performed by a Sucks favorite Suzie MCNeil from Rockstar INXS. I love Suzie's voice so prefer this song, just 'Believe'.

CTV is going to be running the Torch Relay, all day on Friday, for about 8 hours, apparently. My cousin is running at about noon on Friday, and then has been invited back to a party hosted by CTV for all of the runners of that day, including Ahnold, and all of the other celebs. So...who do we want to light the cauldren? Please don't say Betty Fox. Let her run, sure....but let an athlete light it!

Wayne Gretsky's father will be running on Friday, but no one is sure if Wayne will run too. And why the hell is Ahnold running! Can some one please explain this to me!

Danial Igali ran yesterday, and Nancy Green Raine ran earlier, too. I think it will be Gretzky. Which makes sense I think, cuz he's probably the most famous CDN Olympian....but I just don't like him. Give me Trevor Lindon, or Joe Sakic, or Steve Nash, or Ross Rebagliati instead... even Karen Magnassen... I could go on...! I have no clue why Ahnold is running. It picks the shit out of me.

She had three Olympic athletes in her group. Ross, Kristi Richards (free style skier) and some Olympic bronze medal winner in rowing. She said having the athletes in the coach with them was inspiring and very patriotic. It helped her to understand the dedication the athletes have to their sports and their country. Ross's wife was there with their baby and boy, is that little kid cute. Anyway, it won't be Ross. I would LOVE for it to be Rick Hansen and hope it isn't Wayne. He may be Canadian by birth but he gave the final torch privilege away when he moved south of the border.

But it won't be Rick Hanson. He's running in a couple of hours, in Richmond. Congrats on your daughter's run. SO exciting! Running in 1988 is still to this day, a highlight for me. I watched the relay yesterday in Surrey, on TV, and got all choked up. I remember my dad sending me a telegram to tell me how proud he was of me. He passed away 4 weeks ago.

I'm not jumping up and down at the thought of the Gretzky possibility because he was a pro athlete and I'd prefer an amateur get to light it, but yes, the fact he's internationally recognizable already puts him above a whole host of other people. Has Elvis Stojko had a turn with the torch yet? I think I'd like it to be him.

My Dad passed away a year ago. He would have been over the moon at my daughter's run. Seeing Rick with the torch will be very cool. I must remember to watch the news tonight. I'm sure he'll be a highlight.

Played, He played hockey. And he was very good, an allstar for many years and his records will be hard to beat. I just don't like him. Rick Hanson was an up and coming athlete that was involved in a very serious car accident and broke his back. He's been in a wheelchair for a few decades and is an ambassador for paraplegics. He is an amazing man - the call him the Man in Motion. He wheeled himself around the world. It's a pretty inspiring story. Elvis is/was a Canadian figure skater. So was Toller. Ross Rebagliati was the first snowboarder to win an Olympic medal in the sport. Unfortunately, he tested positive for marijuana and was stripped of his medal. (Which, btw, I actually held. They're heavy suckers.) Ross appealed the ruling and claimed that he hadn't actually smoked/used any himself but had been present at a party that was heavily influenced by drug peoples. dum de dum dum TPTB overturned their original overturning and Ross got his medal back. He was actually a nice guy. My husband calls him Mr. Doobie. But - that was never proven and to this day, Ross is still the first person in history to win the gold medal in snowboarding. You should hang your head in shame if you don't know who Terry Fox is. This guy you seriously need to google if you don't. He's a national hero in Canada and one of our most beloved people. He died of cancer and his Mom has carried on his fight for many years. There are Terry Fox runs all over the world every year. His story was truly a heartbreak. And yet he lives on. And so the mystery still glimmers. Who will light the cauldron? I sure hope it's not a politician. :-(

He's got a crevice on his chin. Thinks he's an entertainer. Argh. Old age. Someone here will know who I mean. It better not be him.
