I liked these episodes a lot better the second time around. Didn't help that I was super-tired and coming off of Accounting class the first time.
Sayid - I'm not going to worry too much about who or what is controlling him or how much at the moment. They will be exploring that and I'll just let it unfold the way they want me to. The different time lines we are seeing at the same time? Thinking too much about this gives me a headache. Originally there wasn't supposed to be any time travel but they lied. This season they said there wasn't any more time travel .. but it kind of still is in a way. Just different from before. All this spec of is one real or not is tough. Then I start thinking of how Miles and Hurley were discussing it and Miles said it was a straight line and everything that happened actually had happened. Is that valid? Are both of the things we are seeing now supposed to have happened to them? If so, why show them at the same time to us? Ugh, nosebleed. Jacob is ok as long as Hurley is around to speak for him. Which again makes me think of what Eko said to Claire about Aaron speaking for Moses. This post is a cluster-fuck but I can't wait for tonight!! |

Merrilin, the way I view it is as two separate, but real, universes. One where the reset worked, and one where it didn't. It's surely a little more complicated than that, but that keeps my nose from bleeding

Yeah, thinking of it that way may help me remain sane until they let us know what is really going on.
I had to re-post this, cracked me up (possible Avatar spoiler): |

LMAO ^^^^
The whole Jacob/MIB deal seemed to be that they were chosen for whatever reason to be sentinels for the island (good and evil though of course and frankly at this point I am wondering if all the island stuff is merely a " human experiment" that is played out to see what happens; something about Jacob/MIB's conversation on the island about the people always coming and destruction and Jacob referencing how progress is made just seems to me that for whatever reason certain people are chosen to see what happens) and with the way that they had Locke and Jack have such parallels in their thoughts and stories it seems that they are going to be the two to take over those positions and end up being the sentinels for that island because Jacob and MIB will hand over the keys to two other people.Trixiego, I have been thinking it's a human experiment/game of sorts myself. I like the way you're thinking. Someone, can't remember who - maybe phantom, said something about the series ending with Locke and Jack sitting on the beach..

QB :hugs
Heh Felicia, I kinda thought someone would have had to think of them on the beach besides me lol I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this may be just one big human experiment with the cause and effect deal occurring when placed in certain situations and seeing how people's ideals, behaviors, prejudices and all that are affected essentially it being one big mindfuck on humanity; pretty much that can encompass all the other running subthemes with religion, time travel, etc. |

Did y'all notice the lighting as Flocke was talking to Ben at the end of the episode? When he was talking about Locke, he leaned into the light; when he was talking about himself, he leaned into the shadow.

I did notice. TOQ was really great in that scene too.

I noticed but didn't think anything of it. I'm not convinced there's any foreshadowing there cuz I'm not 100% on the "MiB is totally dark" train anymore. I know nuttin!

Back to the Sayid being inhabited and similar to Ben discussion...... Sorry Flea I know you are angry at it. But I need to point something out.
It would appear the pool had healing power. Remember when Asian dude cut his hand and stuck it in the pool to test it out and he looked confused when the cut didn't heal? This was after they noticed the water was murky and not clear. My hypothesis is that the pool had powers to heal but wherever the murkiness came from ruined that. Therefore what happened to Ben < > what happened to Sayid... I believe Ben was still alive and healed by the pool. And who the fuck knows what happened to Sayid. |

Sorry Flea I know you are angry at it. But I need to point something outNo, I was annoyed because phantom and I were on one subject about two characters and he kept changing it/adding on to it, asking me questions and confusing me. What would I do without him? ; ) That had nothing to do with "Sayid's" storyline. I also believe Ben was still alive when he went into the water and Sayid was not... that or he was freakin' drowned in nassy water. |

It's airing live here now and this is the third time I watched it and I did not see Claire get out of the cab any of those times. Just thought I'd mention that.
ETA - Sayid's "What Happened" sounded like Charlie this time to me. Lol
