Things are so bad around here, that WJZ-13 just said the City decided there was nowhere else to dump the snow except ...
... The Inner Harbor.
Apparently dump trucks are being told to unload their snow at Pier 5.

The simple fact is that if it snows another foot (or more ... they're predicting up to 20 inches!) in B'more, there will be nowhere to put it.

They dumped snow in the river in philly about a decade ago. they dammed the thing and caused major flooding upstream. Idiots.

That's the best place. Dump it on the pier, and push it into the harbor. DC may have to put theirs in the Anacostia or the Potomac.

It also has the added benefit of not having to run through the Waste Water Treatment Plants, nor the regular Water Treatment Plants, costing the cities a boatload of cash.

Glad to hear MsJones! Some friends of mine just got cable back this morning. Being without tv/internet is bad enough. I can't imagine no power at all.

Yes. If you do not share your snowblower and help your neighbors you are an asshole. Jesus christ. But feel free to leave your shopping cart in the parking stall so it can dent another car! |

It's supposed to snow here tomorrow but I see zero signs of that happening. It warmed up so much that we lost a bunch of ground cover today. Damned washington steals EVERYTHING.

It started here in earnest around 4 pm. Since then, some flurries, then some heavy flakes, then more flurries, now heavy-ass snow coming down in buckets.
Fortunately I still have that case of Heineken, since nobody could get in or out for the Super Bowl. |

Dude, share your snowblowers, people! You're not getting taken advantage of, you're being a fucking neighbor. Sheeshers. What if you need something down the road? Let's pretend your snowblower doesn't work and you have no shovel... and the snow is just piling up. How do you expect to ask for a shovel or the assistance of neighborhood kids to do your driveway for $5 and some cookies?
Or let's say that you need a chainsaw for when the winds come back to destroy your trees (yay Ohio). Or you lose power and need candles and lanterns. Or there is an escaped tiger on the prowl and you have no gun and are locked out of your house. What then, fucktards? ps: if you happen to live near an ex, this does not apply |

Or there is an escaped tiger on the prowl and you have no gun and are locked out of your house. You don't lend out your gun. You might ask a neighbor to shoot the tiger for you but don't ask to borrow his gun. That's as bad as asking to borrow his wife. It just isn't done. Get your own damn gun and your own damn snowblower. |

nedloh3 wrote:Careful with that. From our local paper today: "an 8-year-old girl from Ashland died while playing in snow at her family home on Sunday. Ashland police Sgt. Joel Icenhour said that Emily Kramer was playing alone when she fell headfirst into a hole that she'd dug in the snow. Icenhour said the girl's father had been outside with her earlier and found her unconscious when he returned. Icenhour said the girl's body had blocked her access to air. She had dug the 12-inch to 15-inch-wide hole with a larger shovel, and a small sand shovel was found inside." |
