That was just a coincidence. The Funny 115 took about a year for me to do from start to finish, so even though I started it right after Guatemala, it didn't post in its final form until during Cook Islands. I probably could have gone back and thrown in some Exile Island moments at the last minute, but Exile Island is probably my least favorite season overall so I didn't really feel like it at the time. I didn't think my heart would be in those write ups.

Okay. I've been thinking about the Funny 115 the last couple of days, and maybe it would actually be possible to update it. Although maybe update isn't the right word, maybe it would be better to do something like a Funny 115 sequel, that would cover Exile Island up through Heroes vs Villains. That wouldn't be a lifelong project, and it would definitely be doable for me (it would cover 9 seasons, as opposed to 11 in the original). It would actually be a good chance for me to watch seasons 12-20 again too, since I haven't watched any of them more than once. But alas, that is where the problem comes in. I stopped taping Survivor after Guatemala, so I have no way to watch any of the seasons starting with Exile Island. I don't have them on VHS or DVD, and since CBS blows and stopped putting out DVDs, I really have no way to get them either. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to download episodes off the internet. Nor do I have a DVD writer I could burn them to anyway. And without a DVD, I'd never be able to pull off screen captures (which most people will admit, is 75% of the countdown). So here's the question. Could somebody supply me with DVDs for seasons 12-19? Could I at least borrow some copies? I don't want to keep them, I just need to watch the seasons again and get screen captures. I know there are a lot of fans of the Funny 115 out there. If you want to help me put together version 2.0, just drop me a PM. :) |

For example, if you go to this link here, you will witness the tail end of one of the funniest exchanges in Survivor history. You probably have to go to part 3 of the video to see the first part. To refresh: Courtney: "We'll just keep everything between us." Shane: "If we don't, I'll kill you when I get back. I will, I'll drive up and I'll kill you in your s****y little apartment, and I'll drive over to my club, and that'll be it." Courtney: "That was really nice. I don't have a shitty apartment." Shane: "Well obviously, dude, I've never been in your apartment! It was an adjective! Don't take everything so personally!" It's still good after all these years. The fact that Shane threatens to kill Courtney on national television, and then she fights back not because he wants to horribly murder her, but because he disrespected her apartment. |

Exile had a terribly unsatisfying ending. One of the worst final 3's ever.
I'd like to see a 12-19 (or 20) list because although they don't touch the earlier seasons, there have still been a lot of funny moments. I've currently been rewatching some of those seasons through youtube. They shouldn't be too difficult to find. |

Why is that? I dunno. I just didn't like it at the time. It probably had to do with having four tribes, which I thought was ridiculous for a show that already has trouble trying to weave a compelling story arc. I knew that four tribes would never work out. That was the first time that I thought the twists were getting in the way of the show. Maybe if I go back and rewatch it I'll like it this time.
Hmm, interesting. I'll take a look at those methods. I'm wary of the Youtube pictures being high quality enough though. And I stopped relying on places like immunityidol long ago. They're good, but they never have the exact nitpicky images I tend to use on the webpage. Finally, if you update the list, could you please just make a new Funny 115 with seasons 10-19/20 instead of bumping half of the original list? Yeah I'm not changing the original. I'm too proud of it and it took waaaaay too long for me to want to edit and erase. If I do a new one, it will just be an entirely new list for seasons 12-19. Plus I sort of owe BobDawg since he was one of the first Survivor fans of the Funny 115, and the list doesn't even include his season. |
