Winds have begun to really blow the past hour. And, of course, our furnace broke down this evening. Luckily my brother came over and was able to fix it. He had to drive ten miles to Menards in the drifting snow to get a new part. Shoveled once today and will have to do it again tomorrow. I wish I were back in Australia.

I'm not in a poor neighborhood none of the houses are over 9 years old, they are just users. It is the fact that they just won't go out and buy one.

Remove this ad If they bring it back broken I would have to shovel until it gets fixed. It's been broke before and it took a couple of weeks to get it fixed. Off to work, hope the roads are good. We had our first ever blizzard on Christmas Eve. It was the largest amount of snow, 14.1 inches, that we have ever received in one storm. It was so strange trying to drive in an almost white-out. I tried to go to the city to spend Christmas with my sister but they ended up closing the interstates down. It took almost 3 hours to go about a mile. So i just turned around at the exit and came back home. Then about 10 or so days ago we had a major ice/snow storm. Got around 8 inches of snow, and about 3/4 inch of freezing rain/ice and sleet. Luckily I didn't lose power from this storm like I did for a week in December 2007. That really sucked big time. We only need about 6 more inches to beat the all time snow record amount ever for one season. It was set back in 1948. This Winter has been the worst since then. We have a slight chance of more on Thursday and Friday. it's beautiful to look at but not so great to drive in.
