You have so many obnoxious, arrogant players and for those that think Thailand is worse, um, isn't this playing out just like Thailand? You have a group of 5 players (Sash, Brenda, NaOnka, Chase, PurpleKelly) that control the game, and no one ever talks about trying to break up that alliance or try to take them out while they have the numbers? Or in this case, try to get rid of the two freakin' HIIs they have? It's pathetic watching people like Alina, Marty, Dan, Jane, Holly, Benry, and Fabio all try to stay in good graces with them and be part of the cool kids' table instead of spinning this game around and taking control when they easily could.

Too many idiot mactors and people recruited just for freak show potential. A completely uninspiring location. Lot of weak play. Nobody getting their act together to take it to the Dbag 5. Generally unlikeable cast at this point. Far from the worst season ever but it's in the bottom 5 imho.

Na Onka is the only bad one, who can take her seriously? You have so many obnoxious, arrogant players and for those that think Thailand is worse, um, isn't this playing out just like Thailand? Except Thailand is/was boring as hell and this season is definitely not. I like rooting for/watching contestants who are entertaining and almost everyone delivers in their own way. If everyone was nice or 100% gamebots, you'd have a boring show (BB12).

I never saw Thailand when it first aired. I started watching Survivor with the first season, saw Australia, then didn't watch seasons 3-5, then starting watching again during Amazon. I just recently watched the entire Thailand season this summer. I was expecting it to be pretty bad based on people's low opinions of it, but I didn't think it was. There were a lot of interesting moments. You have one player accusing another player of sexually molesting her in his sleep, rouge monkeys, lost boats, girls running naked in the ocean, a guy who brings a skateboard to a beach, Brian's hot wife visiting (and refusing to swallow), Brian's awkward home video showing off his grand piano and cars, Clay creeping people out, Shii-Ann scheming and getting burned, etc. It felt like you got to know the players a lot better as people rather than their gameplay. You understood why they played the way they did better than now with editing trying desperately to build suspense every TC. I wouldn't call it my favorite season by any means, but I think it's better than this season, HvV, or Samoa, where they seem to be drifting towards famewhore, OTT-type players now.

It`s mind-boggling how bad the majority of the players is, casting really did a good job finding all those retards. If a recording of this show will be discovered sometime in the distant future people will be puzzled, cause they will refuse to believe that it was shot almost a century after the term "game theory" was born. It will create disbelief regarding the accuracy of historic documents and will most likely become a major catalyst for a global revolution of previously unimagined extent.

Your bit about getting to know the players better = true. Unfortunately they were a bunch of creeps. Unlikeable can still be entertaining but not in this case. It was an ugly, annoying, mean spirited and worse mean without being funny enough kind of season. Originally I stopped watching it about 2/3 in (have since seen the rest) and was then off Survivor for years. Jeff ranks it his least favorite and I can see why. Watching it was bad enough. Spending time with those creeps must have been excruciating. And the winner went on to commit the lamest post Survivor crime yet; he shot a puppy with an arrow. Note that a couple of these people are just meeting each other for the first time, and some of them have been separated since before the switch. They needed some time to catch up with strategy. The dominant alliance was just WAY too big (just like in Micronesia) and nobody was ready for a power shift yet. Getting rid of Alina was the way for everyone to agree, since she was very isolated. Right now I think the easiest way to simplify the interactions is as an 8-3 split, with the "3" being Marty, Dan, and Benry, but that's still a gross oversimplification. Planning a power shift is very very difficult and it can't easily be done over a matter of 2 days with a group of random people. Whether it was Alina/Marty, there's not a huge difference. Keeping Marty around was slightly better for Sash, and keeping Alina around was slightly better for NaOnka. Jane hates Marty. As for everyone else, I don't think they really cared.
