Reunited and It Feels So Good: Jay Kenneth Johnson to Join Alison Sweeney on Sub-Par

It’s official! Alison's former colleague on soap Days of Our Lives, Jay Kenneth Johnson, is joining the cast of her hit Oxygen series, Alison’s Sub-Par Physique. The handsome and dimpled JKJ, as he is fondly known by his enthusiastic fans, shocked the soap world when he abruptly quit the soap in January, leaving his popular character, Philip Kiriakis, at loose ends, and his legion of fans in tears.

They can dry their eyes! Only weeks later, JKJ has landed a leading role on Alison's hit show, despite the fact that he has a distinctly above-par physique.. Alison still appears on Days as Sami Brady, as well as hosting the top-rated NBC show, The Biggest Loser. My, she’s a busy lady! We asked JKJ about his new role: “I can’t give away too much, but I can tell you that my character has very healthy teeth and is often thirsty … He also appreciates a feisty lady with a sub-par physique. Alison’s husband just may have a little competition!” 

Alison says that she and JKJ rarely had the opportunity to work together on Days, but enjoyed hanging out off-set and that she “is very happy and excited to have Jay join the Sub-Par family and finally work with him as an excellent actor and good friend.”
