I wasn't expecting much from it, but I enjoyed the premiere. http://www.fox.com/mobbed/ Network orders Howie Mandel's "Mobbed".' to series LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – U.S. network Fox has ordered Howie Mandel's "Mobbed" reality special to series with an eight-episode pickup, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The special, which aired after "American Idol" on Thursday night and drew 10.8 million viewers, followed a surprise marriage proposal with a group of performers. In the ad-favored adults 18-49 demographic, "Mobbed" drew a 3.8 rating, marking the highest retention of an unscripted program in the post-"Idol" slot in two years since "Hell's Kitchen." In its time period, "Mobbed" topped a new episode of CBS' "CSI" by 36 percent in the demo (3.8 vs. 2.8). Hosted by Mandel, "Mobbed" is based on a format from the former "Deal or No Deal" host, Darryl Trell and Howard Kitrosser, which puts a hidden-camera element on flash mobs. "Mobbed" is produced by Alevy Productions and Angel City Factory

I thought this would be incredibly cheesy and undercuts the whole point of a flash mob so its more like candid camera but I did like how they pulled it off in the end except the poor girl is going to be embarassed about that wedding dress that was not fastened at the back.

I'm such a sap, though, and it got me. I agree -- WTF couldn't they have fastened her dress and just cut off the one she had on underneath?

For this first episode, i thought the best part was when the security guard started singing. LOL. The worst part was obviously the fugly wedding dress. No, just no. The logistics behind this whole thing is just mind boggling, though. I can't even begin to imagine.

Good thing they were there, but I couldn't help but think that while she loved the gesture, a part of her is pissed that she didn't get any part in planning her own wedding.

It's like an open-air, downtown Disney set of shops and restaurants. We love it, and were really happy that it happened there. That fountain goes off every hour, playing a song and 'dancing' to it, a la Vegas' Bellagio....every thing about that place is fantastic on a gorgeous, sunny So. Cal weekend. Love it. The show....it was fun, but yeah, not really a true mob. And yes, should've stopped at the engagement.

She could of been one of those people that don't like to disappoint in front of crowds so said yes to everything out of nerves, yet in reality was planning on dumping the guy.

Posts: 61 (04/03/11 08:22 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	ok...not a big fan of surprizes...but I thought the whole thing must be an organizers nightmare! that being said, they were SO LUCKY that girl didn't walk out when the other girl threw the water on the guy.... i SO would have. it all went beautifully though...till that darn ugly, ugly wedding dress...and I gotta say, that was not a Tierra, it was a headband put on wrong...I would have been PISSED with the dress & headband thing...and to get married like that? when ur supposed to be so beautiful....argh... Maybe it's a girl thing...and I'm a very low maintenance girl, but come on , it's her wedding day. when I made the comments to my hubby, he was like, I dont see anything wrong with it.. .. yeah right...the groom is decked out to the nines, the family is too.... and the BRIDE is thrown together with rummage sale rejects! boo!

All that dancing they put him through just to tell him he didn't win the mob slot was hilarious. I hate that I'm a big old sap and actually get teary over this shit. Is this just a now-and-then kind of show or are they going to make it weekly show? Anybody know?

Loved the brothers forgiving each other last week and was so moved this week. Forgiveness and reconiliation is wonderful. It's doing fairly well and was given a few weeks after Idol this spring. I want to know what happens next with the son and the long lost Dad.

Remove this ad This is the most scripted reality show I've witnessed in years. I watched the one in which a brother sold his brother's stuff included his beloved guitar. Art Alexakis from Everclear shows up to present a new replacement guitar (amidst the dance frenzy). So sad. The "punked" brother looked like Bobby Sherman and frankly, Bobby Sherman was a better actor. Are they all so fake? The "fight" with the record producer? Come on. The closeups of the hundreds of dancers kept flashing on the same chick. The old mom was almost in tears at seeing Art and the other band member/brothers whatever looked clueless and/or nonplussed. The editing was horrid. Howie pretending to "cue DANCERS" from a little tent was just embarrassing. The whole show was. Doesn't anyone else see the fakery?
