I felt sorry for him the first time, but not this time. I hope he now goes on to win every single duel again, except for the very last one which I hope he narrowly loses. Or he could win all the duels and just get voted out for a third time when he returns.

I respect him for it i hope he makes another run at RI, hes also a pre-med student which means hes going to be a doctor..hes far from stupid.

He should know this is Survivor and if you are going to play, you have to keep your cards close to the vest. Saying that, I still adore him and hope he somehow wins. Unfortunately, I am afraid he is too wounded from the betrayal of Andrea and the rest to be able to shake it off. Think about it, there are lots of tough comepetitors to still head to RI. BUT....I would love to see him be the one to cause Rob to burn his buff.

It isn't a snake move to take out people who have taken you out. Instead, he thoughtlessly - and I don't think he was being deliberately awful about this, he just didn't think - fucked over Andrea, the only person he could be said to owe any loyalty (if you are of the persuasion to believe loyalty is owed in a game like this). I am actually a fan moreso of the people who fucked Matt over, but nonetheless I was disappointed for Andrea (though she'll be fine), and Mike and co. (who were actually pretty smart about how they pitched to him, but to no avail) in the same way I felt bad for Francesca when she got fucked over by someone else's incompetent play. At least Phillip has the excuse of being nuts, though.

I kind of think the scene where Rob was asking Andrea to vote for Matt happened before the scene where she was asking Matt not to vote Grant or do anything crazy at tc. The thing is he could have gotten by even by sticking with the Ome's had he not told B Rob that he had a plan against him. The first half of the ep I was sure Mike was leaving.

He contemplated flipping, talked with Andrea and made it clear that Zap was not going to reveal him or her flipping and they needed to keep it secret from Rob. So then Matt's morals cloud his judgment and he decides he cannot betray his former tribe, who already burned him once and LIED to his face about why he was voted off, because it's not what his god would want him to do. Then when Matt decides he isn't flipping, he TELLS ROB EVERYTHING. Rob of course plays it smart and uses what Matt told him to his advantage. Now that he knows Mike has access to the idol, he isn't going to target him and can take out both the idol and a wildcard in Matt. It worked out perfectly, Mike used the idol to save himself, while Matt thought Steve was going, Zap thought they were idoling out Grant, and Rob knew he had the votes for Matt to go, barring Matt somehow getting an idol.

I just watched the episode on OnDemand. Matt was my favorite. I can't believe what an idiot he was. This was one of those moments where I wanted to throw the remote through the tv. Idiot! Certainly not rooting for him anymore. The thing that I find incredibly stupid, almost as much as coming clean to Rob, was that he kinda figured out that he was on the chopping block by the way that Ometepe behaved, yet he didn't try to flip. It would have been one thing if he was voted out in a tiebreaker, because Andrea didn't flip, but it's another thing to stay at the bottom of an alliance that might vote you out that night, instead of switching to the bottom of an alliance that needs him and wouldn't dare vote him out.

I think why Matt did not flip was mainly because of Andrea and she betrayed him at the TC. After Matt got the letter from Mike , he was at a crossroads and did not really know what to do , he then met Andrea on the beach and show her the note , she told him not to do anything crazy at TC , she's the one who kept him from straying and then at TC , he got blindsided by her as well.

And it is still unclear to me why exactly he thought the righteous path was to listen to Rob. Am I missing scenes where God speaks to him?
