That's even worse. I could handle a bad season if there was the potential to have an amazing ending, but this one just doesn't have that. It's a total dud. I am curious to see what happens after the season, when Probst can talk freely about RI, and he doesn't have to hype it for his blog and for the network anymore like he has been doing up to this point. I am curious to see if he actually hates it as much as the rest of us do.

Russell shouldn't have come back to begin with, same with Boston Rob (but they needed to find some excuse to bring them back). Just imagining this season without Rob or Russell is great! The cast is decent and we may have had some different opinions. I think had Rob/Russell not come back, this season would be much better or rather, not as bad.

I'm actually very curious to see how this one plays out once the Zaps are gone. This may not be the "easily top 5" Jeff claimed it was (unless the cult implosion is amazing), but for me, it's at least in the top half.

Yeah but he kind of -has- to say that. Put yourself in his shoes. Realize that you are not only the host, you are also the executive producer. You are the god damn face of Survivor. If you were in that situation, you would be saying the exact same things he is saying. Now the bigger question, of course, is if he really believes it. This is why I am curious to see what he starts saying when this abortion of a season is over. I don't entirely think he will start trashing it, but you never know. 90% of your fan base revolting might be a little bit of a wake up call.

Remove this ad What I like most about survivor and find entertaining about it is the strategic aspect of it, the mental and social battle among able individuals. There is very little of that this season and that's why I am bored. The addition of the occasional clownish character - like Phillip - does not increase nor add in any way to the entertainment factor as far as I am concerned.

What I used to like about Survivor was the strategic aspect build on top of a fantastic island adventure. Colby was right on in the HvV finale when he brought that up -- Survivor has lost it's way in that respect. Confining people to a small area by a beach and giving them nothing but rice is NOT an adventure.

This season, however, the producers are ruining the show. I won't rehash my complaints because you guys have already said most of it, but what were they thinking?! stop bringing back old contestants!!! we've already seen rob play this game before, and it wasn't all that interesting in all stars and it's especially not interesting now. as if they didn't already know they had a horrible season while they were filming it, why haven't they done ANYTHING to try and shake things up for the sake of the viewers? they saw the separate shelters and "buddy system" yet sat back and did nothing at the expense of the viewer. the predictable pagonging is not entertaining... bring back the group reward challenges! when you have a group of contestants who just kind of suck (i.e., Thailand), there's not much the producers can do. but this time the season's interminable "boringness" can be easily pinned on the producers for making it so easy for boston rob to control the game. shake it up, guys! do your job or your viewers will vote with their remotes and snuff out your torches! this season is going to go down in history as being even worse than thailand or fiji.

But I do think last night was the worst single Survivor episode I've ever seen.
