However, she's better as a winner IMO than Alexis and Manila because all three have equally shitty personalities when it comes to being entertaining so for me at least Raja is pretty to look at and entertaining when she lip syncs. Perhaps I also like that Raja's asthetic is more refined than Alexis and Manilia. The caked on, over exaggerated make up is unattractive to me. I like my queens pretty but realistic (I like the whole is she or isn't she game of it) and I think of the queens in the house this season Yara, Carmen and Raja are the most beautiful.

You see, I'm not looking to fuck a drag queen. I'm looking to be entertained. I could care less if the makeup of the drag queen on stage is caked on, looks like she's been dragged through a gutter, or fit to be photographed for a fashion campaign. Perhaps it's a part of their persona, but that's assuming the drag queen has an act. Draq Queens are not to be confused with cross dressers or transvestites. They are supposed to be entertainers. If you're concerned more about look then you're no different than any haus frau on TWOP with no clue about drag. If that's the case then own it and move it along. But don't pretend like you know what the fuck you're talking about- because you don't.

Anyone who says that Carmen and her witch nose is beautiful is not to be taken seriously.

They are related. I think drag is about being able to fully embody the personality you want to present. If you wanna be "sickening" then you need to look and act sickening. The reason it has been an issue for me this year (unlike years past where I didn't really care about look [think Pandora]) is because all these busted queens keep yammering about how "fierce" and "sickening" they are when they aren't. If they would just own that they are boogers (in a good way) then I wouldn't care. But in the end, this is RuPaul's Drag Race and look matters. If you think that look has nothing to do with drag then take it up with Ru.In the end, I want to reiterate--so that I won't have to later--that IMO look (good or bad) and entertainment are pretty closely linked in the drag.

But if all you have is "look" then you don't have much of an act, whether that look is gutter trash or glossy finish. I put more stock in whether or not the queen is entertaining. She can be busted but still highly entertaining. What bores me is when a queen is all look. There's nothing more boring than some flawlessly painted and expertly put together drag queen with no stage presence or personality. At this point in the competition, Raja has not impressed me. Alexis and Malaria would make more fitting winners: Alexis for her stage presence, despite any taste issues, and Malaria for her energetic lip sync skills. Raja really hasn't excelled in this competition for anything other than look, which is troubling, but it doesn't matter because she's polished enough not to tarnish the brand.
