Remove this ad Random musings: - yes, he was probably exhausted - yes, he was hamming it up for the cameras - yes, he was a fuckstick for saying 'for my family' - who the fuck else are you playing for? Osama Bin Laden's family? Charlie Sheen's family? - this dude's 'job' is as a reality tv 'personality' - he an Amber made $1M - which after the taxman, ain't that much, however, he's also made money on numerous other reality show appearances and I'm sure they get paid for various events and appearances. I'd have to look it up, but I guarantee those shitsticks probably wrote a book or something. He's made a career out of being a D lister. - because they are 'faux celebrities', I'd bet they are getting free shit all the time. People get ga ga over that. People probably comp them meals, drinks, upgrades, etc all the time because they are 'relatively famous'. Anyone remember that Jen chick from Big Brother - the season with Evil Dick? She was the brunette 'model' with the big titties? I was on a flight from Ohare to DC with her a couple of years ago. It was her and her mother and the flight attendant dude-ette didn't upgrade me and some other business dude because he gave them the last two seats in first - and I have like #+!+# mileage status on United because of all the fucking travel I do. The point? I'm sure that sort of shit happens to 'Mariano' all the time. Fuck him. Fuck him right in the ear. And fuck his stupid naive tribe for not taking blindsiding his ass.

If any of you have seen my university you will understand. It's chockers full of stairs. no joke 110 degrees... whats that in celcius? I'm sure it wasn't that bad. Rob lacks the Stamina and Endurance required to efficiently complete that challenge without almost dying at the end.

Spent one whole day out in max 45 deg celcius heat for sport. morning and afternoon. it sucked. That is why australia sucks. it gets too stinking hot and too stinking humid or its too stinking wet.

Guess the producers didn't give a shit at that point. Also Ashley was a lot closer to Grant, Rob, and Andrea than Phillip and Natalie, which you can sort of see in this pic.

I was just in Costa Rica (Papagayo penninsula - northern part right near Nicaragua) and it was like 98 when we did a zipline thing and that was hotter than a mother fucker - I was exhausted. So, I don't fault the older out of shape dude for being exhausted. I fault him for hamming the shit up to the cameras. Remember, if he doesn't win the $1M, he's bucking for 'fan favorite' money - which Matt has locked up.

Even still, Grant is a former pro athlete not far removed from his playing days. Andrea is a thin, fit 22 year old chick. Rob is an out of shape dude in his mid 30's. Translation: It's gonna affect them less than it would Rob.

BS, I have to say that this is one of the more physically challenging things I've ever seen them do on survivor that wasn't a physical 1v1 fight. If you've ever run suicides, this was like vertical suicides. Ask college basketball players what their least favorite exercise requirement is, the one that kicks their asses the toughest, and they'll tell you its the suicides. This was just like those, except everyone is malnourished and dehydrated, and every step you take is further away and UP instead of just further away. By the end of that thing, you'd better believe that they were all hurting. If Grant was hurting, then Rob might have actually been close to passing out. I seriously doubt he would have put so much effort into it if Andrea hadn't been so close to finishing. Grant winning would have been fine for Rob's plan. If anything, I was impressed that Andrea was able to do that, because even as a runner in college, I think that would have kicked my ass. 10 years later? I would have been doing good to stay ahead of Phillip and Natalie.

Seriously guys, I actually AM a marathon runner, and I have done Boston 6 times. Leg cramps like he had will take.you.down. I completely understood his reactions. Taking everything into consideration (age, shape, dehydration, AND the cramps), I actually don't think he was being an attention whore after that challenge. I once had leg cramping during a marathon that made me do and say things that I would've never imagined. I was so embarrassed but it's like you can't think, it's such an insane feeling. At one point I actually thought he was entering delirium for a sec - I forgot what he said but it was bizarre and his eyes had that look to them. And then did you see when he kind of leaned forward at the top of the stairs? Christ, I thought he was going to topple headfirst down those damn stairs!! Anyway, love him or hate him, I have been in moments like that, and I'm shy - certainly not an attention whore - you aren't really in control. I felt for him. And WTF with Phillip cheating??! I wonder if they even noticed that or not. Also, I'm so glad Steve is out - he seriously looked like a corpse walking around. I think he threw the R.I. challenge, but whatever. Either way he needed to get out of there before he dropped dead.

I don't see the issue. Rob was wiped out, and I don't think he was faking it, because he slowed down quite a bit the last few times up, and he couldn't afford to do that if he made a mistake and still win. He wasn't going that slowly for show. I think it took everything out of him.

I don't care what anyone in this thread says, it was an awesome accomplishment to win that IC, especially with his shoelaces completely untied.
