They both just basically said "I'm here because of Rob". They should've just said "give the million to Rob, I would and I'm against him in the F3." And yes, the remainder of Phillip's speech was horrible. He just blew everyone off and insulted them. Of course, he had to know he didn't have a chance with them. Only him and Ralph were even civil to each other.

But alas they did, and even though nobody in their right mind would think he could win, I wanted to see the speech he thought was so brilliant. And of course we got the same old Phillip we had all season.

Jury was looking for the lesser evil and all except David were mad at Rob. No one was going to vote for Natalie. If Phillip had apologized to Steve for calling him a racist and told everyone his strategy was to be unliked enough that Rob would bring him to the end, then showed some humility and asked them to forgive him for being a jerk, I think he might have won. His arrogance might have cost him 1 mil.

He was also a disappointment at the reunion, looking so dour and uninterested. Hopefully it'll be the last we see of him.

He really needed to pull the rabbit out of the hat and say something like, "HA! bitches! I tricked you all! I have been creating a character the entire season, and you bought it hook, line, and sinker. I'm actually a quite calm person and build model airplanes in my spare time when not tutoring high school math students. I'm the goat, and it was just as viable to play this role as it was to be in a friendly relationship with everyone." Instead, he told everyone to STFU and proved he was still batshit crazy, and probably a detriment to the development of his child.

I don't think it would give him any more votes than the one he got, but I think the jury members were intelligent enough to appreciate how well he pulled it off. Very few of the other castaways did any sort of strategising, and several of them left before the merge/jury.

I was hoping he'd give some standout speech about how he was playing everyone, Rob, especially, so that he'd make it to FTC; that he went too far with the crazy when he accused Steve of racism, and apologized to him; that Rob was just as crazy and obnoxious as he because Rob encouraged, enabled and protected Phillip; and that if Zapatera is serious about why they voted out Russell, they need to vote for him to insure no one will ever try to take a goat to the finals and/or behave like Russell. The one, tiny, tiny chance he had was something like, "First off, I owe you all an apology for the way I behaved. The truth is I'm actually a nice guy and this entire season was an act. I'm not very good at the social game, I'm horrible at challenges. My only shot was to make myself so hated and disliked that everyone would want to be sitting next to me at the end. It was all strategy, nothing more."

Since he had seen him right up to the very end, it didn't come as a surprise to me. I was hoping it was an act tho. They built up for weeks that he would have this huge reveal at the FTC and all that ever came of it was essentially "vote Rob". Disappointing. Any chance there was a producer intervention so that they didn't have to give two zero-vote finalists the $100K prize like they had to in Fiji?
