(Iovine's choice.) Haley's initial audition was punctuated by her admission that her Idol dreams had been 'crushed' the year before in Chicago. She had the major growlies going on then, too. The Stevie Nicks sound is what I think she needs to shoot for as an artist, but that's just me. Too slow and too stylishly delivered for me, right from the start. And it gets even more stylish as she moves toward the title line. Thank you for picking up the tempo at that point. The gale force winds are blowing her dress and hair across the stage. At least they didn't include the Burger Queen flames, right? The second time through the title line, she's started to redeem that start for me. But then she goes and does a bit too much with the title right before the repetitive and well-known outtro. A 6, I suppose.
