The thing that's the most (hilarious/awful) about it, I think, is the way you have 4 people all teamed up in a blatant manipulation, one they're quite happy to share with the camera. It's easy to think about people getting manipulated on Survivor (like, say, all of Brian's victims) but it's hard for me to remember another time when a bunch of people perpetrated this kind of group manipulation on a single target. I mean, it's awesome, and Erik takes it like a goddamned champ, but man that is some hardcore Survivor.

For me, one of the most interesting parts about this were the comments of the 4 women when they voted him out. Always mild Amanda said nice things and drew a heart, Natalie and Cirie were in between, and evil Parvati poured salt on the wound by making that face and announcing on national tv how Erich would go down as "the stupidest survivor ever." On Rob C's podcast, she said this is still the moment that she treasures the most. How can she not feel bad for the guy at all? Great player that she is, what a coldhearted bitch.
