She is hooked by it from that ep, so maybe that was kind of the point. AND to show that Jesse is back and most likely much more dangerous, his switch has been flipped.

The episode literally begins where season three ended. There's no exposition whatsoever. Sure, someone could be intrigued enough by the mystery of it, and having no idea what the fuck is going on, that they go back and watch the rest of the show. But it certainly wasn't written or put together in any way that you understood, even in the vaguest way, why the characters are where they are, doing what they're doing, if you've never seen the show before.

Posts: 1079 (07/19/11 09:01 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Eh, comic books do it all the time with "zero issues" and whatnot - it's a place for the new reader to jump on board, and even with some of the danglers from last season this was still an episode in which two people sit in chairs while another walks around them with a box cutter and then slits a throat. Pretty viewer accessible, all thing considered. (not nitpicking - it was still really, really great)

I guess I'm glad they're more eyeballs on the screen, but these people are shortchanging themselves. Does anybody have a read on why Hank was bidding on the rock? If he's still in the game, what could that possibly have to do with tracking down Heisenberg?

The tomato red floor of the lab, the green box cutter (which Gale also used in the opening scene), the green sinks in the lab, the colorful lab gear Gus slowly puts on. Gus is so damn fastideous about everything and speaks only when necessary...spooky as shit. The vague outline of the body in the plastic barrel as it is slowly being disolved by the acid...excellent. Love Walt's loyalty to Jesse no matter how frustrated he gets with him. When Walt told Gus "you kill Jesse, you don't have me" and Jesse glances at Walt like he's thinking "Walt...you just saved my life, thanks man." I love that Jesse refers to Walt less and less as Mr. White and more as Walt...like he feels they are equals now. Loved Skyler using a fussy Holly to get the locksmith to break the rules so she could get into Walt's condo. Mike.is.fabulous. Very nice addition to the cast.

Posts: 2790 (07/20/11 06:55 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts	What I hope happens in the end (but probs wont happen): -Walt finally outsmarts Gus and Jesse kills him. -The police and Hank (after he starts walking) find out about Walt/Sylar/Jesse/Saul -Sylar gets arrested and ends up in prison. Marie visits her and they both cry. -Saul after realizing that he's screwed takes the coward's way out by killing himself (which would fit his character) -Jesse & Walt however, find a way to escape together to someplace like Mexico or Brazil (kind of like the ending of the Shawshank Redemption) I bet the series finale will be amazing regardless

Neither here nor there, but it made me laugh. It would either be the most interesting or boring show ever.

And Walt simply has to die, it would be absolutely awful if he makes it out of this series alive. I can tolerate anyone else living, but Walt has to die.

Somewhere down the line after a series of power plays and established connections (and breaking even badder) Walt finds himself a true drug kingpin. A sort of Pablo Escobar figure, if you will. Not just a manufacturer or a shadow figure hiding behind muscle, but a ruthless killer who uses intimidation and brute force to impose his will. He relocates to Miami, where a certain blood spatter analyst sets his sites on his biggest game yet; not just a simple murderer or serial rapist, but a man directly or indirectly responsible for thousands of deaths. Water White becomes Dexter Morgan's Moby Dick. I know it would never happen but I this is the kind of shit I think about.

I think Saul may make it out of this alive. He's been shown as fairly forward thinking, with the business tax shelters for Walt and Jesse, bailing out Badger, and Jesse's parents house dealio. He's also pretty knowledgeable about all things criminal, so I'm not so sure he goes down in flames with the rest of them. All he seems to care about is money and spending said money on hookers. I remember reading somewhere on yahoo or whatever that Odenkirk said his character should die in a horrible manner in the end.

Maybe not 100% intentional, but he'll know he's on his way out--it'll be a choice between a life in prison or the quick, easy way out. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't see Gus making it out of season 4 alive.

He's such a morally bankrupt character, but he embraces it. He doesn't bullshit himself or others. He is what he is. For that alone, he should skate in the last episode.
