Do you think that there was only one offered, or was there an unused one in a later leg? It wouldn't surprise me there was another one, and that the teams were too nice to each other to use it, and Tyler & Nathan were ineligible anyway.

It was most likely either in Israel 2 or Czech Republic 2. I think it might have been either leg in Israel, because if there was one any earlier Dave and Kelly surely would've used it. However, they were last to complete the detour in the first leg, so therefore they couldn't use it, and they were eliminated before the second leg. I'm leaning towards thinking that the second leg is a more likely scenario, as a U-turn that late would almost surely put a team in last, but since it was a NEL that would counter-act it.

I also noticed that after the Carry cross/carry pots detour, teams had to walk the Rampart Walk and get a clue before going to the pit stop. That useless Rampart Walk clue could likely have contained a 2nd U-Turn. Tom/Matt and Jeff/Luke were probably too nice to U-Turn, Tyler/Nathan couldn't use it, and Sam/Renae were last.

Now that I think of it, the ending of the second Israel leg was edited very awkwardly, it seemed that they were already very close to the pitstop, but they had that extra route info, and it still took them a while after that to check in. Also, I don't remember seeing anyone at that last clue box. I think you're right with that being the mysterious unaired second U-turn leg.

What I was looking for is a site with info similar to that leaked from the Survivor application process - like what happens after you submit your application - how long before they call you, if you make the finals do you get locked in a hotel room and for how long while they do the psych and medical testing... what the producers are looking for in contestants...plus info on certain rules of the game that wouldn't be made public - eg. from the visas you'd have to apply for, you'd have an idea of where you'd be racing, right? How many "extra" visas do they make you apply for in order to throw you off. The Aussie producers probably do the whole application process quite differently to the US producers, probably not anywhere near as intense.

Not knowing China, Indonesia, Poland and South Africa is really sad. I'm a 15 year old Australian who has never left the country and I know more than them. As funny as the teams were I think we had the dumbest final five we have ever had in the amazing race history. Nathan and Tyler along with Sam and Renae seemed to think they could go through life with looks and seemed very ignorant about the places they were travelling to. Jeff and Luke seemed to think they were smart but Jeff proved he was really dumb in that roadblock in leg 10 in Jereusalem Matt and Tom clearly didn't have a clue about where they were any of the time during the race Dave and Kelly seemed to not be very smart when it came to book smarts but I think they were more street smart. But still they seemed very uncultured and unappreciative of the world around them and the places they got to visit

So with stress and exhaustion at an all time high, of course not everyone would be able to completely be active as such.
