But, she has a lot of things going for her to be recruited. And they have never had a midget on the show and she could fit the bill (a midget is someone under 5 feet right?). I figure we dont have long before its announced and she looks like a good lead.

I am not sure when she gave the interview, but the article was on July 20th, so I would think the interview happened within a week of that. If TDT's calendar is accurate, they would be back July 9th. The journalist could have gotten wind of casting looking for her and she had to say something, because otherwise they would pick up she was out there. Sorry if I keep pushing this, but something I was told recently makes me think she could be the one. (I never would have found her on my own though, I re-looked at page 1 and looked her up and things added up.

While the last series had an even gender split after the two returning contestants were included, maybe this time around they had an even gender split beforehand -- which would mean that we are looking for one male and one female. It is also possible, although I think less likely, that the tribes are uneven to start with -- five men and four women on each, going to six men and four women on each after Coach and Ozzie are added. So -- do with have any definite information to the effect that the sixteen new players comprise seven men and nine women? If not, then we may want to consider the possibility that we are not done looking for male contestants.

That actually makes it more likely that the two remaining contestants might be men. Assuming we have no definite information about the gender breakdown, are there any likely candidates we have overlooked because we assumed the same gender breakdown as last season?
