I think it unexpectedly changed the outcome, making it a backfire instead of it's intended purpose. He still had to answer a tiebreaker afterall. ETA: I don't know if you've ever heard the studio when a mic isn't adjusted correctly, or even on the feeds when their mics are off. You can't hear anything. There is no way those mics could pick up "someone off camera" writing something down. If that were the case, you'd never be able to watch ANY show live from all the producers and cameramen and teleprompter guys typing/writing/whispering away. To me, rigging is, as someone else said, telling players what to do when they have to do it. The only person whose game was rigged in S8 was Eric, but he signed on for that. The $64,000 question game way back was rigging. BB does plenty of messing with the game, but I still think people have free will (unless they were Eric). Subsequent America's Player or Sabs were very different and really ineffective or uninteresting. The whole "vote for the worst" has been affecting AI and DWTS with some similarities to America's Player in S8.

I find most of the rig meltdowns on here every season pretty lulzy (although I think because the feeds are so dull right now, they've gotten a little OTT in the feed discussion thread). I wouldn't call BB "rigged", I would call it "manipulated". I'm with the people who think that for something to be rigged- then it has to absolutely provide a specific outcome. They stack the deck as much as possible sometimes, but there's always the possibility they won't get their way (losing Jeff and Dani within the same hour is a perfect example of this). BB8 remains the most fucked with. The show just came off of Maggie & Boogie- 2 colossally unpopular winners and I think AG dropped the America's Player into the mix so she could do her best to get a popular winner for once. The twist was in place before the game, yes- but it was set up to help whomever the audience liked..and that turned out to be Dick relatively early on. The once or twice that Eric tried to go rogue and play his own game rather than America's, he got spanked...being made to vote against the house and whatnot. The Eric twist was so ingrained in that season that it's almost impossible to say what the outcome would have been without it. I'm not bothered by the fuckery because as much as I love reality television and cling to my favorites, it's not like I'm going to get any cash out of Rachel or Porche or Jordan or whomever winning the game. And regardless of who wins this season, none of them have been awful. Compare these people with some of the foul creatures we had to endure in seasons past- and I'm cool with any of them taking the title (and truly, there isn't a strategic mastermind left in the house, period- ain't none of them bitches going to be robbed if they lose)

Lastly, if you think about the veto that Rachel won, there is no way they could have predicted that the final 6 would have all come from different pairs. That was the whole point of that challenege. They were holding onto their long lost partner. I think it's obvious they add challenges as they go along. They just happened to add a challege Rachel had already won before. Believe it or not, there is a way they could have gotten Shelly voted out without Pandora's Box. Porshe nominates Jordan and Rachel. The veto is a challenge they can help Adam win. Adam wins and saves one of them. Shelly goes up. Adam and that person vote Shelly out. Same results, but we don't call foul play. This is what happened during a veto in Season 5 (my favorite season). Nakomis was HOH. She nominated Cowboy and Drew. They both helped Diane win veto. She saved Drew. Drew and Diane voted out Karen (Nakomis' only ally). This was good entertainment with no rigging involved, just good thinking on Diane's part. The show will never be that good again.

Heck, they never seemed in danger until the end when Lane decided he'd have a better shot with Britney but that got subverted anyways. Even though they lost one of their own, it was orchestrated by their own members and not someone else. (And Matt didn't even warn Britney that there was an alliance of four in the game.) BB13 has become unwatchable because of Rachel Hantz. Heck, Rachel Hantz is now exceeded into the level of annoyance attained only by Boston Rob and Russell Hantz - and even if she's acting better when her man Boredom is evicted, she's now annoying due to the very blatant slanting and the fact that for the first month we had Samoa style editing. (Seriously, did any of you guys know there were actually eight new people cast that weren't named Dominic? Did you even know who Lawon was before he was evicted? The editors at CBS haven't either.) So basically, a combination of overexposure and obvious slanting. I wouldn't have despised Russell Hantz and Rob Mariano so much if the editors didn't devote 20 minutes of each episode to their confessionals saying "Aren't I awesome?" If Rachel Hantz or Jordan manage to win this season, you just know everyone's going to praise them about being such great winners, and how Rachel Hantz is going to brag about how great she is at the game and how she won it. So you won Big Brother 13. Good for you Rachel. It'll take more than that to impress me. Go win a season without Grodner bailing you out. Come on, Rachel. It's an insult to yours and Boredom's own skill when they put up safeguards. Even if that was me in there winning, I'd feel like my win was less impressive because they put up bumpers for me to keep me from being evicted, or to keep sacrificial lambs in the way. It's like bowling a 300 with bumpers - you can brag about it since it's not like any idiot with two hands can do it, but you're not gonna impress people without such an obvious handicap. Or even winning a season of Survivor where the producers forgot a rule they stated was crucial the previous season, getting put on a very imbalanced tribe full of young strong people that also happen to be the stupidest players ever (And that's really saying a lot after the clowns in Samoa!), and getting puzzle after puzzle challenge thrown at you when it's known you're good at puzzles. So you won twice. Good for you Jordan - Don't talk about how "Great" you are at this game until you go win another season without having production saving you. No, I'm not saying your victory in season 11 doesn't count - because you deserved it. You had the odds against you, yet you beat not only Gnat, but also Kevin, who had that game won several weeks ago. Then you had the perception to take Gnat to the finals. Yeah, Kevin deserved to win, but so did Terry in Exile Island, as did Yau-Man in Fiji. So you deserve it the way Earl did in Fiji - lesser evil, you were nice to people, and you pulled your weight more than Gnat did. You knew you couldn't beat Kevin, but you could beat Gnat. And it was completely free of (obvious) slantings. Not really anything production could have done to save Jordan except pray for the best. tl;dr, I call it "Big Brother: Redemption Island". Why on earth they wanted to replicate the worst survivor season ever is beyond me. Unless they wanted to give Brenchel, JeJo, or the Evel Ds money.

My only guess would be that Gronder wanted to give Dom (and his ally/friend Daniele) a chance since Adam was throwing the challenge anyway. But I say if you have them compete in duos (or individually) for veto Week 1, you have to be consistent and not switch it up to suit peoples' needs. I think that's a lot what we're trying to say here, that because this bitch wants a certain outcome but she does it in a very herpaderp way where it's very obvious, the show is very, very inconsistent in the way it's edited, thrown together, cast, handled, etc. and it causes so much debate over who the favorites and non-favorites in a certain season and then that is what steers the tainted path of every single season. It's a downward spiral until the show is cancelled. I mean, there has to be something wrong when lengthy discussions about rigging even exists.
