I'm no Elise fan and I think she has done a fantastic job setting back the image of black women on television for years to come. But still, there's just no denying that she is more kitchen-skilled than many others there. She dominated the palate challenge, IIRC, and (individually anyway) has put out some good dishes. She's had her share of fuckups and duds, but that goes for everyone left (except for Will, who has screwed up probably 1-2 times overall). Elise at her best seems to be better skilled than Jennifer/Paul/Tommy at their best.

Her main issue is attitude. While that attitude definitely hurts her "total package" appeal as a chef or as an employee, it doesn't make her a worse cook. It doesn't hurt her ability to combine ingredients and apply cooking techniques to them. It's unrelated to that part of what she does. Elise is someone who merely has potential. She can cook and has the tools. She needs someone who can break her attitude and get her to reach an adult level of maturity. If someone can do that successfully, she would probably be pretty good at what she does. If they can't, she will just be a very good home cook. Thing is, Ramsay's "developmental project" never wins Hell's Kitchen, to my recollection. They always come in 4th through 2nd and their key flaws are used to explain why they lost. Elise will be no different.
