Well, it's not like Jeff/Jordan were the only ones who seemingly had a weird thing with her. When Rachel is your only friend during the first week of the game, you're doing something very wrong. Porsche's seemed likable on a superficial level, but she wasn't very good at making deeper connections with anyone in the beginning of the game. She's a pretty awkward person for someone that is a VIP cocktail waitress and it really hurt her. She was very fortunate based on the way this season was setup because I think she would have been a Week 1 boot in most seasons based on her being the outcast.

Posts: 3168 (09/11/11 01:08 AM) Registered User More Recent Posts	i actually rather enjoyed the feeds this season, especially after last year's suckathon. we got to watch Shelly mind fuck everyone, every day she was in the house. you had to see Kong's non stop eating to believe it. the roller coaster ride that has been Big Red this season. her breakdown in hammock was a highlight for me. watching Brenda emotionally abuse Big Red. they NEVER showed the extent of that on the broadcast show. we know what a douche he really is. America doesn't. the fact that Aero had to start a new thread almost every day for awhile there shows how much people were watching and commenting on the feeds. minus the tard talk, of course. every year, people say these are the worst feeds ever. i think they were as good as could be expected given Grodner's interference. but that is going to happen every year she is around, so i will enjoy what i can of them.

When you get along too well with everybody then more people demand things of you and you look like more of a Shelly/Adam like floater. Porsche set herself up even better where she was protected by the majority, where people felt they knew where she stood, but she still had the opportunity to float around without painting herself as a backstabbing social butterfly. So she was doing everything right. She wasn't fortunate because of the season's set up. She was fortunate because of her strategy to use the season's set up to her advantage. She should've been the week 1 boot as the strongest newbie competitor, but she was the 1st newbie to realize she needed to align with the vets and it's a strategy that has clearly served her well.

Maybe last year set my expectations too low, but for every lull this year, there were also multiple periods of excitement. Shelly was incredible drama/entertainment value, repulsive though she could be. And Kalia? A delight in every way. I enjoyed disliking the both of them, something I cannot say about Enzo & Lane. The only person I disliked and didn't enjoy in any way was Brendon. I was SO put off by the return of the vets, I was sure I'd NEVER get into this season. But lo & behold, ten weeks later, I'm rooting for Rachel and missing sleep to watch these silly people play some card game I don't even know!

Posts: 3169 (09/11/11 01:21 AM) Registered User More Recent Posts	ICYH, i agree about the vets. that first night, when Big Red and ED walked back in, my first thought was, "hey, look at that. i just got my summer back. my boss is going to be so happy." then it turned around. when we knew Dani was going to compete in that first HoH endurance, i actually took that Friday off work so i could stay up all night and watch the drama play out on the feeds. and it was worth it.

There were several times I was rushing home to find out what was going to happen. Did I just admit that in public? The only way for me that the feeds were the worst, as it's been said a million times, was the ridiculous amount of blocking. It's as if "reality" is the one thing they don't want us to see on this reality show. eta: I was going to mention the K-singing, but my sense is that the trend is still toward blockage, with or without her. Remove this ad No clue how they're going to do the finale with only 90 minutes, but I kind of want an Adam with Julie interview just to laugh at more of his delusions. Nothing will ever, ever be more pathetic than Jeff's "...I'M A MAN!!!!" but Adam might give him a run for his money in terms of being a major embarrassment.
