Tha depends. Does homophobia mean an irrational fear of homosexuals (because phobias are irrational fears)? Or does it mean someone who refuses to support equal rights? Homophobia is not a very useful term because it's not very well defined.

And anyway, I don't really dislike Jeff--I just get a little annoyed by his sense of entitlement and his definition of good game play as not nominating Jeff and Jordan.

  

I think that some people live very sheltered lives, and get much of their information from mainstream media. We hear so much about male pedophiles and Catholic Church scandals these days (to a disproportionate extent, I believe), that somebody who didn't know a 'normal' gay male might assume that all gay males were pedophiles. I don't think that Jeff has been exposed much to gay men, or gay male culture. He seems to firmly believe that gay men are dangerous to young males. I think that everything he knows about gay men comes from the media, which focuses greatly on gay male pedophilia. This is why I don't think he's homophobic, but just ignorant.

In this case, I don't think that fear is relevant; I think that it's more about exposure.

I agree about your definition of homophobia: it's vague and ambiguous and even the experts seem to confuse the term.

I like Jeff, but I also agree with what you mentioned about his sense of entitlement. The way he went after Danielle in the Jury house was just selfish, bratty and immature.
