Won't Sell My Soul
Semhar is upset with her Savaii tribe and vows not to stoop to their level.
"Being
alone on Redemption Island has its ups and has its downs. It has its
positive and it has its negatives. But anything is better than people
who deceive you and people who lie to you and people who pretend to be
your friend when they're not."
(cut)
"I
decided to wear my buff inside out, because I don't feel so Savaii and I
don't feel so team red. For now, I'm just gonna wear it inside out."
(cut)
"At
the end of the day, if I'm the first to go home, or the last, no matter
what, I will feel confident in how I played, because my soul's not for
sale. I'm not going to lie for a million dollars and I'm not going to
let a million dollars change who I am. A million dollars might make me
do some crazy stuff like come out here <laughs>, but it's not
gonna make me change who I am. I don't believe it's making anyone else
change who they are. I think this game makes you reveal who you are, and
I'm not a liar, and I'm not about to become one. I'm going to be
confident no matter if I stay or leave, because my soul's not for sale.
Not even for a million dollars."
We Lost the Challenge
Christine is not happy about losing the immunity/reward challenge.
"Challenge
started out well, but ended somewhat poorly. The guys tried and tried, I
just didn't think they had quick enough feet. I don't think they
<snaps fingers> moved quick enough. They were walking <rolls
eyes> and I think they could've had quicker feet."
(cut)
"It looked like slow and steady, but slow and steady lost."
(cut)
"We
lost the challenge today, and the reward. The reward was pillows and
blankets and a mat so you could sleep on the bamboo. That was a big
letdown. Now tonight we have to go to Tribal and vote somebody out,
which is never good."
What's For Dinner?
Elyse reveals what's on the menu for the Savaii tribe's next meal.
<scraping with machete>
"So
this piece of deliciousness is a taro root. You'll see I'm lovingly
peeling it. We cook it in the pot with water and it turns into this
really creepy looking purple stew, but it doesn't taste bad. In fact, we
all kind of like it. And it lasts overnight, so it has some staying
power. <looks at root> They kind of look like dolls.
<laughs> Chop 'em up. But we were so thankful to have this this
morning; we were so hungry. We're lucky to have it. It may not be filet
mignon, but I'm happy now."

"Ozzy
went out and speared like half-a-dozen fish, and we've got them stored
away in the icebox, AKA the banana leaves. I'm gonna cut up some more
taro. It should be pretty satisfying."

"We're
gonna eat really good. It's gonna be a feast. We're gonna go back and
tell the blue tribe we caught fish THIS big <extends hands>
Liars."
This is the Real Deal
Brandon admits Survivor is tougher than he expected.
"The
fish that we caught sucked, to be honest with you. I'd much rather have
had a burger, pizza. I'm not used to this stuff. I'm trying to pull
through it. Everybody likes the fish to a certain extent, because we're
hungry. I like to gnaw on this banana thing we found. It's got pretty
good juice, and it's sweet. Other than that I'm starving."
(cut)
"Survivor
definitely looks easier on TV, when you're eating a burrito or drinking
a Coke. It does not look like it would be this intense. You don't get
any more hungry than this unless you're in a bad - it makes me think
about how much I have at home. It really does. It makes me realize what
we take for granted for America on a daily basis. Somebody's having a
little fish for their fricken' food, not even with the equipment we
have. We have good equipment - we have a spear. I couldn't imagine
killing a fish with a stick and then just eatin' it. This stuff sucks.
It's beautiful but it's deadly out here, man. It just really sucks.
Survivor's really hard. I enjoy the intense part about it, and I enjoy
the feeling it gives you after knowing you have to go through 39 days of
pain, because after that you get to go home. Realizing people don't
always have that option after that 39th day, years and months that go
by, it makes you look at what we have back home as a blessing."
Tribal Council Magic
Coach admits to both looking forward to and dreading Tribal Council
"Not
only am I a glutton for punishment - at the end of the challenge today,
I was smiling. Not because we lost - I hate losing; as soon as we left,
I was gutted inside. I know it sounds crazy, but I love going to Tribal
Council, because that's where the magic happens. I don't want to go
over and over again, but I love getting to Tribal, it's another segment
of time where my mind is stimulated. Jeff likes to fence with me
verbally. The last two times, Jeff's called on my because he knows I'm
gonna tell him the truth. I'm excited because I like the verbal fencing,
which is what I call it. But then reality set on me that we lost a
challenge, and I was pissed off. But you gotta look on every defeat as
something positive in it, and you've gotta look at every victory as
there's something to improve."
(cut)
"This
camp is full of amateurs. They'll be scrambling this way, talking this
way, come over and make a private deal with me. It's just crazy. There's
no need for that. Everybody needs to settle down. My alliance of six,
as soon as I get back to camp, in front of everybody, I'm gonna get all
the remaining five of my alliance, get 'em together, sit 'em down, and
say, 'You're voting for this person,' 'You're voting for this person,'
split the vote, and then revote and take somebody out in the
counter-alliance. It's either gonna be Mikayla, Stacey, or Christine.
One of those three."
Savaii Treemail
Savaii recast to news of the upcoming challenge.
<Cochran begins reading treemail as everyone gathers around>
Running in circles is a key part of this game
It will have you thinking outside the box
The only way to keep your tribe intact
Is to be first to open the locks
Cochran: So it's immunity.
Mark: Oh God, again? It's so cool!
Ozzy
(solo): It looks like an immunity challenge today. We've already been
to Tribal once. To go a second time in as many days would really put a
damper on the spirit around here. I hope we win today. I hope we have a
resounding win, and beat the socks off them.
<they do a group chant of Savaii>
Ozzy: We gotta put our game faces on. Get into game mode. Drink water if you need it.
<Dawn gives Whitney some water she'd been drinking>
Whitney
(solo): The pressure is on. I'm excited about a challenge, because we
could win immunity. I was doing some pushups. I don't know why. I guess
it kind of gets the adrenaline going, ready for the challenge. It's good
to be ready.
<they head to the challenge>
