Although, Britta trying to kick the garbage can down was incredibly hilarious. All the UN stuff, especially the Spartacus bit was great for me though. I don't know, I still struggle with criticizing the show too heavily, as it's easily my favorite show and the worst episode is still far superior to almost everything else. But yeah, this wasn't great.

But, for some reason, some episodes that focus on her ramp her up to 11 and the stuff that makes her awesome (objecting to dwarf indentured servitude in the Dungeons and Dragons episode) gets shitty and uncharacteristic (wrestling with Annie in oil).

It was an awful episode compared to anything. The model UN thing in particular felt like I was watching some ABC Family show or whatever and just followed a lot of dull television conventions. If this were the first episode of the show, nobody would be giving it even faint praise.

Probably the only thing they've ever done that was a bigger misfire was the "doy off" in the cafeteria with the smartass punks. It was the whole episode too so I'm not gonna blame one character or storyline. The model UN thing was less than funny and the Annie/Jeff stuff seemed out of left field and kind of non-sensical. And yes, awkward & creepy. I have confidence that McHale and Brie can easily overcome that if a future scene calls for them to be sexy with one another. Could be trouble too since most seem to be hating on Chang and next week is - according to Joel McHale - one of Ken Jeong's best performances ever. He even called it "award worthy". Positive of the episode? Britta's jeans were tight.

You can already see these schisms developing in the Community fandom, which makes it awfully hard to just step back and say that an episode like “Geography of Global Conflict” was pretty good but often flawed. It's almost like they can't just trust their own formula to make a great show. I smell lots of tinkering by suits (who that opening son was directed at) trying to make the show more "friendly" and "accessible." The "Hello" song, to me, was the very epitome of that - the blandest, most saccarine of songs, and completely misapplied to how Chang and Brita were getting each other off. And if I'm going to mock someone, Wayne, it's for being some sort of Cassandra on a message board trying to take credit for calling a show "over" a season early.
