I dare say those same people will want to give him N this episode as well. I'm kinda mad at letting myself be swayed by the arguments for Jim as well.We can't retroactively rate based on what ends up happening. The rating is for the episode alone as it stood, and Coach was N last ep. I gave him a CPN, btw, because I also think OTTN is an inaccurate description. He was CP all the way, but he was also N. Just because he was amazingly skillful and level tonight (hats off to him for the Cochran scene, which revealed a whole other level of Coach play, even though I don't like him), doesn't mean previous ratings have to be revisited. I agree, though, that he maintained CP from last episode, and lost the overt N-ness and OTT-ness this time. As Darth Vader would say "Impressive...!" Unfortunately, it's still the dark side of the force.

Then that episode Sophie an average woman gets a HIGHLY manipulated confessional saying she is a strong woman. The first like 5 episodes pointed to a female winner. She fits, she's on Upolu, she got seperated from the religious crap. She wins Cupcake!

It's me pointing out that people are disqualifying Coach for wrong reasons. Just because you personally think Coach's prayer was stupid doesn't mean the edit was on your side. Because it wasn't.Dude, I'm an atheist and I can see that what is going on in this thread is anti-religious myopia.Look at the supposed "OTTN" episode with the benefit of this episode... an episode where Dawn/Cochran SPV contrasted the "mean" and "ostracizing" Savaii with Upolu, a tribe that "stands for something." During this SPV, Upolu WAS SHOWN PRAYING!!! DAWN/COCHRAN SAID: PRAYING TRIBE=POSITIVE!!!

DAWN/COCHRAN SAID: PRAYING TRIBE=POSITIVE!!!don't forget what we learned very early in this season... don't judge a book by its cover. We have seen how messy upolu can be. We even had our most invisible player comment last week on the potential problems of Brandon!!Dawn and Cochran are judging on first impressions. That doesn't mean it's P or N, just that it is.In addition, hindsight is 20/20... sure we can justify last epsiodes ratings any which way we want to now that we have seen what happens this week... But what then... Maybe someone from uplou flips next week and gives some reason like "Brandon/Coach are insane" or whatever... do then go back and change all the ratings again? We can only rate in the moment. And for the record, i am not anti-religious... far from it... but i found the editing treatment of Coach's behaviour last week to be extreme.

Uber-P Dawn tells us (and Cochran) that it's not a smart move to flip and asks him not too (and he considers it). 2. She also tells us that while there have been some bad things at Savaii, there have also been a lot of good things (such is life)! 3. Jim said...it doesn't make sense to flip right now. And he is right!!! it doesn't make ANY sense at all.4. The very last line of the episode... Keith on RI...Cochran backstabbed us all.5. The NSPV of Jim having a temper has never been shown to us thus far this season... it is unsubstantiated.Yes we see that Cochran feels like he is the outsider, but really, he got snowed very skillfully by Coach. But Cochran's feelings of feeling like an outsider, do those directly reflect on Jim?

I agree - not seeing the N right now, but he did come across as not good.I also agree with much of what you have said... but i too need a rewatch. It was such a messy episode.

It could be salvagable - maybe - if Jim does something stunning next week, and depending on how the recap spins this week. However, the merge episode tells us a lot about the winner, and i am not so sure that this was all that good for Jim.
