My mom and her mom both collected figurines. About 5 years ago my mom got a number of items from her mother following her death (about 25). Most of these she either already had or didn't want. She sold them and kept about 5 (of which I have no idea what since she put them in with her collection and it's huge and I myself kept two of items she didn't want).
Flash foward to the present. My mom is now dead and I am selling off most of her collection (but keeping a handful of stuff for myself). I contacted my cousin asking if she wanted a piece of it (I offered her something very specific). She went apeshit saying that she wanted anything and everything that came from my grandmother's house. She then tut-tutted me for selling off somethng that meant so much to my mom (she knew I was going to do it and she didn't have a problem with it).
I understand that she misunderstood my origional intentions (and thought I was selling everything) and if she asked me nicely I would have agreed, but I hate that she is demanding stuff (most of which is already gone and some of which is in my keep pile). If she's being that way I don't want to give her anything. Now my husband is demanding that I give her nothing (so if I relented I would have issues with him). Yikes.
