Still too much of the Tocantins nutjob) Cochran - OTT3 (what a joke. wearing Coach's jacket was the final nail in this wannabe's coffin) Dawn - OTTM3 (what a disgusting, Vecepia-like kiss ass) Edna - UTR1 (was just kidding about Edna. I would never take such a weak female as my official winner) Jim - CPM5 (best edgic edit and one of the best strategic players this season. Sad to see him go) Keith - UTR1 (.....) Ozzy - MORP4 (Could be the RI returnee but can't see him winning the game after a terrible first episode and merge episode) Rick - UTR1 (hope he makes the F3 for the lulz. Will need to channel his inner "Cowboy Strength" to start winning challenges) Sophie - MOR2 (narrator, nothing more) Whitney - OTTM2 (I want to see the bitch, not the crybaby) Official Winner Pick = Albert Everyone Else - Eliminated. I think it's fair to say this has been the second worst edited season in the history of Survivor (nothing will ever top Samoa). When Cochran/Brandon come back for the next ASS/FvF I hope they are booted first and second.

Posts: 900 (11/09/11 10:02 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	EDGIC NO SPIN-ZONE - I was really confused about who the editors wanted us to identify with and didn't understand why some possibly negative Upolu footage was shown at the IC, Brandon's rant, etc. - I actually interpreted the Coach/Jeff interaction as positive for Coach, and I think people are being extremely retarded about the wave. I kind of felt he was getting shielded from the Upolu negativity, though obvo Coach haters strongly disagree. He also got fantastic confessionals + inspirational music during tai chi + credit during recap that I think people are blatantly ignoring. - Dawn I felt was, keeping with her trend, extremely positive. I mean, really really good. Does she win, or is she a story to fill time until FTC? The "snake" thing kind of makes me think she is being drummed up as this really credible threat/doubt to Upolu victory rather than an underdog winner, esp coupled with her pre-merge. She is insanely, insanely positive, tho... - Cochran should be eliminated for you if he isn't already - continued negative SPV, the strutting around, the framing of his decision in the recap, Jim's F3 comment particularly damning. Also, if Cochran won, they wouldn't have said he was "seduced" and would have framed his flip totally differently/way more sympathetically. I mean, come on, a Cochran winner candidacy is, no offense, a fucking joke. - As for Jim, he still sucked - Sophie still has no content, and is an extremely illogical winner edit. - Ozzy has been super-positive and hilarious, but I think not enough to come back from elimination scepticA wrote: I am curious - how many Coach voters had him as their #1 pick prior to merge? The guy got a VERY good edit this episode, and they didn't need to show him at RI this week. If I remember correctly, they didn't even show Matt on RI during the double elimination episode where Mike and David got voted off. Right?

The "In touch with my spirituality" was a bit OTT for him, but seemed rather positive to me. -The second challenge. To me, this was an issue. Coach directly contradicted himself, and it was highlighted. If we had just seen him saying "We want to compete" and choosing food anyway, that wouldn't be a big deal, but this was EXPLICITLY pointed out. To me, this was N content for him and honestly quite damning. He came across as looking rather ridiculous in general. Actually, all of Upolu sans Sophie and Albert did. -Jim's SPV was the worst for him. "You're the only ones not drinking the Kool-Aid"...That might not be DIRECTLY damning, since Rob got similar content last season, but here's the issue: Rob's cult comparisons were supported by the edit. He was CLEARLY in control of tribe as the mastermind, and it was definitely edited as such. Coach's edit shows that he is NOT in control of his tribe. He definitely has outliers, and in my opinion, "Coach's cult" is negative. -Rhinoceros vs snake scene. Nothing really there. Basic narration, really, just laying out the choice that they had. Not important. -The coat scene. More on Cochran than on Coach. -The wave. I actually saw this as bad for Coach. It came across as arrogant - why show it at all? It can reasonably be surmised that a lot of players do similar waves - so why him? I'll also reiterate: Dawn's commentary about her voting against Ozzy is HUGE. Notice that Whitney did the same thing. However, Whitney didn't explain herself. She was almost certainly going for the exact same thing, but we didn't hear why she was doing it. Once again, remember Jud/Benry? Jud got to explain himself and Benry didn't, that was the biggest highlight for a Jud win. I feel like Dawn/Whitney is similar. Tonight may have actually set us up for Dawn/Albert/Sophie F3 with Dawn winning. I feel like Albert and Sophie are going to split off from Upolu and join Dawn; we're getting way too much focus on them as a duo that is separate from the cult (AKA Edna/Brandon/Rick).

At the second IC with her ridiculous ass-kissing to the self-satisfied Upolus. At the second TC with her back-and-forth with the criminally insane troll. Since Jim knew he was going, he should have tried a last-minute HailMary play and beat the shit outta that annoying little troll. He at least would have received a standing ovation from the others not named Coachebag and Cockroach.

Remove this ad I honestly think Albert will turn into a villain. I know it seems like a stretch, but there it as. Personally, I didn't see the food/challenge bit as very damning. Didn't Coach rationalize it pretty well? Basically, "I would like to compete, but we aren't in danger, so we should have something to eat. But I'd like the decision we make to be something we do as a team." I didn't think it was that bad. The wave...? Well, I think there was something behind it, because it didn't have to be shown and did make Coach look sorta bad. What I do resent, though, is that everyone is discounting the POSITIVITY that was also present in Coach's edit. At most, this episode is M for Coach. To disregard the positivity represents an extreme case of "we're seeing what we want to see." And I'm not a fan.

Posts: 148 (11/09/11 10:41 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Tonight officially eliminated every member of Savaii Dawn will be the high-visibility version of Brett from Samoa, Whitney is gone next week and Cochran just looked horrible tonight. I think this episode was bad for Coach. Nothing protected him from being the bully of this episode along with Brandon and Cochran. Obviously this episode is going to be heavily contested whether it was good or bad for Coach, I'm gonna say it was bad. As I speculated earlier today, Albert and Sophie's flip was only used to create doubt and didn't actually happen. Although Sophie didn't get the edit I wanted her to get tonight, and was shown once again as a narrator, I still will stick to my guns about Sophie. This puts not only Sophie (who I'm still supporting) but Albert as a very viable winner pick. We've never had winner types like Sophie or Albert. Narrator Winner or UTR Alpha Male Winner? - While Sophie had the consistent pre-merge attention, Albert is lacking it and has only had vis spikes. +1 for Sophie - Albert has occasionally shown strategic insight, whereas Sophie has only narrated and re-capped what Albert has said. +1 for Albert - Both Sophie and Albert have been shielded from Upolu's negativity, and were the go-to castaways when Jim wondered who he could possibly get to flip. We saw scenes of both Albert and Sophie wondering if this plan is a good idea. - Both Albert and Sophie did NOT get their way when Mikayla was booted from the game however. But, looking back now I'm starting to believe that we were supposed to think Mikayla staying was the right thing, because now Coach/Rick/Brandon/Edna are being painted in a heavily negative light as bullies. I find it a little funny that they showed Sophie throwing up. Maybe everyone here who relies so heavily on the story can somehow link the throwing up back to the scenes of Sophie looking disgusted at the Jack and Jill reward

I do agree with a rating of DIAF3 for Cochran.

Where he needed a cooldown, he got...a really OTT scene with Coach's jacket. They didn't need to show why he was wearing that at all, but they included him dancing around. I personally think Cochran was 100% done after last week, but this was even worse. Anyone willing to defend him from this at all or are his supporters done with him? Just wondering.

However, it's not looking good for Dawn logically, but Edgic isn't about the logic + edit, it's the logic BEHIND the edit, why they're showing us what they are. Sophie's MOR streak is really bizarre, because she's CP-lite in most, and UTR in the others, which is different then a billion straight MOR's. Dawn is the ~P~ toned force who wins hands down if she makes it...but can she make it? Coach is the CP-strategic returning player, who knows what his faults were, and is set out to change them. Edit wise, there isn't any perfect edit this season. But, after 22 seasons, there's still room for anything to happen.

I wasn't feeling this before, but now I really think she's a viable choice. This MIGHT be a "Why Coach loses" season, and she could be the Natalie to Coach's Russell. Natalie/Russell/Mick = Sophie/Coach/Albert respectively? I hate to make direct comparisons, but I could see it.

When Cochran's edit stops getting supported by the intent of the edit, then I'll consider switching my pick. But he's STILL getting every chance to justify himself. When Whitney cries about being villainized, that's not against specifically against Cochran, that's about Upolu. Cochran is separated from that. Meanwhile, you have Jim brazenly declaring Cochran is a perfect 3rd place goat. All excellent for his chances. What WILL be a huge problem is if Cochran's edit begins to portray him as a Coach kool-aid drinker. There was a little rumbling of that but not remotely anything decisive, yet. We need more episodes to see.
