Remove this ad Ok guys I am a little biased in how good I think Chris is/was. I never see him talked about on here and think he is worthy of being brought back for another shot. He knew what he was doing from day one and worked his way to the top with the odds against him. What are some opinions on his game and whether or not you think he should be back? He is my favorite Survivor of all-time and respect his game tremendously.

I understand what you are saying, but dont you think it would be cool to see him go back and have a chance to do it again? Even if he doesnt do it again, noone can take away what he did in Vanuatu.

IMO, the only survivor winner to disgrace him or herself in coming back was JT, I don't think JT realized how good of a position he was in at the merge had he kept the idol...in ASS, winners didn't even have a chance but represented all right...

Newer players deal with idols and exile and redemption, and i'm not taking anything away from their win, but Chris won survivor in such a way that incorporates the essential qualities to win. I'm not going to say his game play was flawless, but it was Survivor strategy and reactionary action at its best. For that I will always have him in my top 10 of Survivor winners ever. That being said, I think he should hang up the jacket, walk away with the title and live in the glory. It's a shame that his win was downplayed by Jeff's relationship with Julie. But besides Brian, Chris easily had the most impressive win in the first 9 seasons. Tom followed up nicely by dominating Palau, but we all saw his return in HvV. I don't think Tom could have done much better since so many people were wary of him. That being said, I feel as though Chris wouldn't do so well again.

Tom was at a severe disadvantage with the way HvV was setup. He did all he could to stay alive. He is no doubt one of the best players ever and with a bunch of newbies would be tough to beat.

Being Sarge's pawn pre-merge, then Twila/Scout's come final 7, being the potential swing vote but NEVER making any plays outside of whichever alliance had scooped him up, and then winning the final three challenge? Sorry but he was a pawn all game and nothing more ~

He was a pawn and had potluck, not some socially aware player who was waiting for the oportune moment. He's just lucky Twila's insecurities saved him. i agree he had an amazing FTC performance and the winner of my first and favourite survivor (and the ebst FTC) but he isn't nearly as good as sucksters make him seem. I wouldn't mind him returning just because two timers are okay but three-peaters aren't. Ami, Julie and Leann played an amazing game, he deserrved to win for getting to point A to B and giving the jury what they wanted but he actually isn't a good strategic player.

I would argue that giving a good FTC performance might be the most important skill in order to win survivor...you don't hear about people like lets say Amanda, Russell or Twila being bad strategists...but they all have something in common, poor FTC's...Todd and Chris both played the game differently, Chris played a worse game with more mistakes but in the end both win if they get to the F3 because of their ability to schmooze jurors. Same reason Sandra wins in FTC...

His win seems impressive on paper, but in reality he's just being at the right place at the right time. Substitute Chris with Chad (?), and Chad would have won. Every winner has some skills and luck that made them winner and I do not want to take away his win but I truly think his win is overrated.

Same reason Sandra wins in FTC... Your absolutely right but still he isn't a strategic player and that is why I can't respect him. But FTC skills are extremely important and he did that. I like that Sandra won twice but watching it was only entertaining as it meant Russ and Parv (<333) didn't win and they didn't deserve too. The main reason I don't like him is he was close to being the least impressive in a season heavily overlooked in terms of good players. Ami lead the priginal dominating female alliance and Leann, Julie were great too. Even Twila apart from the whole alienation thing. He was totally boring too until the final two episodes. Ami, Julie, Leann, Twila and Eliza were totally entertaining. I would be happy with any of them returning before Chris even though Ami and Eliza have played twice and most people don't remember Leann. Leann was my first favourite ever, when I was naive and didn't understand the mechanincs of Surv too well. I credit Chris for having relationships with everyone though, usually that's dangerous but it worked for him.

Remove this ad Sarge was clearly the "leader" of the fat five, and we SAW Twila approach Chris about the F7 blindside. Remember? He looked SO confused because he didn't HAVE a plan to stay. He's on tier with Butch from amazon at the F7 switch there. He was at the bottom, and people higher up on the pecking order scooped him up as an extra vote. Unlike Butch though, he won a couple challenges. Same gameplay. I don't see Butch hailed as an extrodinary player though. I don't think Chris was a bad player because he clearly rocked the fuck out of the social game, but he didn't play the "strategy" card at ALL from what we saw. He was a pawn at the switch, and then stayed complacent with his new group until the end when he won immunities. He was no mastermind. Plus, he's always yelling and he's fug so I don't like him ^_^
