The reason why it makes sense for E/C to slow Ma and Pa down is that it was to help them secure 1st place! You completely missed the point. It wasn't to knock Bill and Cathi out of the race so you saying that I think the only use for a u-turn is to knock teams out makes no sense. It's stupid to u-turn the snowboarders because that would've accomplished nothing and only put a target on their backs from the strongest team. Bill and Cathi are 1 of the strongest teams but it's nowhere near as threatening to have angered them than the snowboarders. Their reasoning to u-turn Bill and Cathi was not personal but strategic and much more justifiable. And now it seems like the snowboarders like them more now than ever so it looks like it was an even smarter decision. WE ALL THINK THEY'RE DUMB FOR CHOOSING FIRST PLACE IN ONE LEG OVER IMPROVING THEIR ODDS IN THE LONG HAUL. They are looking at just that leg instead of the race as a whole. There is bunching, but it doesn't always work out for everyone. Plus, the next leg could end up with no bunching at all, which has happened plenty of times recently. Mulitple legs in one country is not unheard of. Regardless, its ALWAYS better to leave earlier than the other teams. Saying it doesn't matter when you leave because there's "bunching" is something I'm sure a bunch of teams would disagree with. Katie & Rachel would have some shit to say on that for suure. There is no guarantee of bunching. Ever. Sometimes people don't make a flight by a couple minutes. It's potentially a huge advatage to have the biggest threads get on a later plane. Also, alol @ you saying it would "put a target on them" when there's nothing the snowboarders could do to them in return. They'd have used their U-Turn this leg, sooo.. what are they gonna do to them? There'd be no repercussions.

When they made the comment that they were going to use the U-turn, because they didn't want what happened at the Mat to happen again, they clearly must have meant they wanted to win the leg, rather than have that win snatched from them at the last moment. But the editing made it seem like they were intending to use the U-turn on the snowboardfreaks all along, so when they didn't, there was some intentional cognitive dissonance. I have to assume this means they don't win. Thanks, editors!
