Yeah, man...I just don't know.  This wasn't the worst episode I've ever seen, but it certainly wasn't all that memorable, either.  It just was totally "meh" for me.  And even though I loved "Buffy" and was happy to see Charisma and James in this episode, I wasn't all that impressed.  Really hate to say it, but Charisma seemed to be way overacting.  Eek. 

I did enjoy the show's sense of "fun" with the gore.  I'm not a major "gore" fan, but I know that lots of SPN fans are, and to see the gore-factor notched up again was nice (in a sick sort of way!  Heh).  But for the most part, I was a little bored as well.  The only scene that I got all into was the first scene with Sam and Dean in the motel room after Dean's nightmare (by the way, it WAS nice to see that Cas was still on Dean's mind).  And the only REAL reason that I was so involved in that first scene was because Dean was wearing his purple-checked-shirt-of-Angst.  Which also shows you what a freaking nerd I am, that I follow their clothing.  But I haven't seen Dean wear that shirt in years, and it was nice to see it brought back.  But you know you are grasping when you are looking to their clothing to supply you with interesting tidbits.  Heh. By the way, there is a great out-take of this scene circulating around (I think it was posted on Spoiler TV a few days ago), that is fucking hysterical.

I was genuinely amused at Dean's "Lindberg baby?  That's on me!  Unemployment?  My bad!" statement at the end in their "Impala Chat".  That did make me LOL.  But other than a few laughs and another cute moment when Dean is deprived of pie...AGAIN, I was just underwhelmed.  Not the worst...but nothing to really get all excited about, either.   The scenes for next week DO look really, REALLY interesting, so I'll keep hope alive that my little show will pull itself out of it's underwhelming start to the season.

Well, judging by the preview for next week, it looks like Sam storming off is nothing more than him needing some "alone time", because they will be right back to working together on their next case.  Which totally diminishes the big confrontation between the two at the end of this episode. 

That said, though, I did like this episode better than the others this season so far.  God help me, but I laughed my ass off when Dean was getting off on Air Supply.  That was awesome.  I've missed little moments like that when Dean can just be Dean instead of drowning in his man-pain.  I enjoyed their evil counterparts, but I thought they missed a golden opportunity to parody the brother's relationship when they were in the diner.  They commented upon how each was flawed, sure...and I enjoyed that part, but I would have liked to see this scene extended even more and have them talk about what fuckin' pussies they thought they were to constantly be so co-dependent.  Of course all in a fun, witty way.  So, I was a little disappointed that they didn't go there.  It was still fun.  Despite the fact that I love Jensen's portrayal of Dean (and this is the #1 reason why I still watch the show), he plays EVIL extremely well.  He'd make a chilling villain sometime.  I hope he gets a chance to do that during the course of his career. 

I'm a little underwhelmed by the method of taking out the Leviathan's, though.  Borax?  Really?  It seems kind of random and very, VERY easy.  And this is something else that I don't quite understand.  In S4 and S5, even though the Winchesters were completely outmatched in the face-off between Angels and Demons, we could at least understand why each side would be interested in them...why the Winchesters would be feared and hunted.  They were vessels.  OK, I buy that and understand everyone's desire to either use them or kill them.  But what is the Leviathan's interest in them?  Why are they fixated on them being such a threat?  With all due respect to the boys, they haven't been winning that many battles lately.  So I'm perplexed why they would be seen as formidable foes.  I would like to believe that they ARE important in some other way other than just bumbling around being Hunters who are trying to stop these creatures that are older than the world itself, but I don't think the writers have even thought that through.  So I am left to accept the fact that the Winchesters are important to the Leviathans because it's their show.  But that's not very satisfying or very realistic.  It takes me out of the story. 

At any rate, I don't want to do nothing but pound the show.  I was entertained this week.  It's still not quite the show that I fell in love with, but it was kinda fun.

I actually enjoyed this eppie.  I agree that it was odd that they would so vehemently burn the 1st sister's bones when she was so desperately trying to communicate something; not really like the Winchesters to not notice what the audience could pick up on right away, but I'll let it pass.  I am SO glad that they boys made up with minimal drama and angst.  I'm really, REALLY glad that Sam saw Dean's point of view on Amy.   I just adored the little contact-from-beyond by Ellen.  I miss her feisty ass.  She was awesome.

It wasn't an earth-shattering episode, and I agree that I would like to see more of the Leviathans and a redemption for Cas (still miss him badly), but this was a fun MOTW.  They need to bring the Impala back quickly, please.  I miss Dean's baby!
