Remove this ad I know this is the 9999999999999th topic about this issue, but I had this argument with a friend earlier today. Not only did he say CI was racist, but he said Amazon and Vanuatu were sexist and Nicaragua is an example of ageism. Now I know it was controversial, but CI was not racist at all. Racism is defined as discrimination against one or more races. How is dividing tribes by race discrimination? The tribes were given the same of amount of supplies. Not one tribe on CI had an advantage on day 1.

By your reasoning, "whites-only" jim crow era laws (whites-only schools, water fountains, buses, etc) aren't racist, since you're just dividing people by race ("separate but equal"). Segregation of races, by definition, is racist. Now as for why I don't think CI was racist, it's because it was specifically meant as a social experiment, to see how people react to the idea of segregation when they are forced to live in it. It wasn't a decision CBS made because they thought it was unnatural for whites and blacks to live together or something like that, it was just an experiment.

Thus, the producer decisions to: let Yul get the idol, tribal swap after 2 challenges when it was clear that 1 tribe was just awful, the bottle twist, handpicking of certain challenges at the right times, I could go on and on.

It'd obviously look racist, even though it would've been nothing more than original tribe loyalty.

And all you racist whiny bitches desperately trying to create the farfetched scenario that the only reason why the whiteys didn't come out ahead was due to producer riggage you apparently missed that 3/4 returning castaways from Cook Islands were white, the one who mutineed and brought the white alliance together again was casted as 1 of the fucking Heroes instead of as a Villain in season 20, and that Michelle was fucking robbed by a horrendous never before done twist that saved Boo the last white in Fiji when he was going to go home. at the producers ever caring about racial PR.

Remove this ad ^ RavuRules is just being a shithead for attention as usual, but he happens to be right that this idea that so many people have bought into that the producers were afraid of the possibility of white people doing well and had to sabotage them is bullshit. With 20 people, there had to be another double boot at some point to fit their schedule. It's not something they could just conjure up on the spur of the moment, they had no choice.
