Somehow the 5 people cast for the Manihiki tribe were among the 5 most athletically useless people ever to grace the Survivor screen, even though a statistically disproportionate number of professional athletes are black. Every tribe had a Flicka, a Cao Boi or a Billy, but Manihiki had nothing but them and nothing like an Ozzy, a Yul, a JP (profesional volleyball player), an Adam or a Parvati or Candice.

Rarotonga voted out 6 people without ever managing to vote out a single white person.

Everyone piled on the original Aitutaki. 4 of the first 7 people voted out were originally members of Aitutaki -- even Aitutaki tanked a challenge to take out one of their own -- and at one point, 3 straight original Aitutaki were voted out (2nd, 3rd and 4th boots). Ozzy was at the bottom of the new Aitu tribe and only survived because of the mutiny.

That mutiny, the only mutiny in Survivor history, is an example of white flight.

Penner was one of the mutineers. When Yul told Penner to pick which of the 5 remaining Rarotongans to boot, Penner picked Nate, the last person of color left among those 5. At FTC Penner voted against Ozzy, a Mexican immigrant, on the grounds that Ozzy had a "sense of entitlement".
