Remove this ad Well watching The Talking Dead afterwards answered my question about Hershel knowing. They showed a clip that confirmed that Otis was the one on the farm that was in charge of bringing the walkers to the barn and he picked up Sophia and put her in the barn without ever telling Hershel. Damn.

That being said, I thought that this half finale was the best episode this year and kind of made up for the stutteringly slow pace of the season thus far.

Yes, a lot of stuff didn't make sense if you sat down and analyzed it, but I was totally entertained and was able to suspend belief for two hours. My husband goosed me when Shane was looking through the barn slats, I jumped :). I was on the edge of my seat at the end hoping that Sophie would be in the barn, and though obvious, it was totally satisfying that she was. I also enjoyed the moral and ethical issues they dealt with, and I thought they did a great job wrapping everything up. BUT watching the previews for next February, it sure doesn't look like any story progression is going to happen. I could be satisfied with this being the final episode for the whole thing if they don't get some new scenery next year. I really hate this dragging out the season business. Is AMC the only channel doing this? Ugh.

She might have been bit there, somehow managed to escape the zombie that bit her, and might've eventually died from blood loss.

Remove this ad A better way to end the farm story: Shane goes nuts and everyone starts backing up in fear that he may shoot anyone who disagrees with him. Or who likes Rick better. Shane opens the barn and stands back. Lip smacking noises and shuffling sounds are heard coming from inside. Slowly a zombie shuffles out and into the full light of day. It's Sophia! Shane is so shocked that he drops his gun and is bitten by Sophia. Darryl holds his new love Carol back preventing her from being bitten. Lori notices and realizes there is another man available who isn't in love with her so she charges toward them only to be bitten by Shane who has already turned. Andrea's gun jams again and this time no one helps her so she is eaten by Shane and Lori. Hershel sobs because the interlopers are killing his pets. Patricia is relieved she no longer has to torture chickens. Maggie, Glen, Dale, Carl and Rick open fire and when the dust settles they are the only survivors along with Carol, Daryl and Patricia. They burn the bodies and set up house in a community style marriage working the farm and live happily ever after. The other people living at the farm who had less than five lines of dialogue fade back into the wallpaper and are never heard of again. The End.

Not just the Sophia thing, but the whole mojo. Last year it was about 'people getting together to survive together'. This year it's about 'I really don't like you mother fuckers' and 'your southern morals don't play out in this new world'. Yes, Shane is losing it, but he's right. He's the only one who truly has the nads to survive (well, and Daryl too). - Dale may be the most insufferable character on Earth. Reminds of that pussy Keaton father on Family Ties. Ok, I kinda sorta get the pacifist thing, but seriously, what's his fucking hard on for Andrea? Is he her father? Her pastor? She's what, like 40? She kind of alluded to it, but I was waiting for her to say 'step the fuck back old man, you're out of line' - Maggie - I still thing she's cute (googled the actress and she looks gobs better with long hair). BTW, she's Australian. The one thing I will say is that her ass is too big and that disappoints me. - Andrea - she's actually got a pretty banging body. I like that. - Herschel - I find his character very interesting. Yes, the religion thing but another interesting thing is how he 'personalizes' the walkers - 'that's Ruby Sue - she tended bar at The Stink and Pink on Fridays', but notice that he de-personalizes the guests - it's not 'Carl', it's 'your boy' and they make a point of saying 'His name is Glenn' when he keeps saying 'the Asian boy'. - Zombie Kid - so we have the girl in the premiere an Sophia. No other kid zombies? Very few old people? I'm thinking slow mother fuckers like little kids and old people would be the first to get their shit bit. Need more Zombie kids.

I think all the characters are going to have a shift in personality after that ordeal, and to me that makes the entire first half of the season stronger. Well said...poor Sophia
