Remove this ad I mean how does this twept not know he was on the chopping block and when he finally gets the chance to show his strategic mastermind he ends up crying and begging his tribe not to vote him out and actually has the audacity to use the pity card??? gimme a fucking break.

Cochran would likely have left in the same position (or worse) no matter what he had done. He was at the bottom of the Savaii pecking order just like he was with Upolu. So had they gone to the rock, or a fire-starting contest, and Savaii won, they would have pagonged Upolu, then out with Cochran. And had Upolu won the contest, he probably would have gone even earlier, as they'd have had no reason to keep him.

If what the bitter Savaiis are saying is actually true, he would've had a great chance to win, especially if he was up against Whitney and Keith like Whitney wanted, he would've gotten at least 6 or 7 votes. The Upolus liked him the most out of all the Savaii members, so as long as he did a good job of hiding that from them he would've still made it to the end and won. However, he had no way of knowing that. The way they acted towards him made him think, as is usually the case when tribe members treat someone in that way, that he was the odd person out of the group, and wasn't in anybody's final three. They never even told him. With all the knowledge he had, if it was all correct (and he had no way of knowing it wasn't), he went with the better odds.

He knew that total strangers were telling him what he wanted to hear. It's pretty amazing to see him going on, with a lot of surprise and bitterness, about the Upolu tribe not listening to his brilliant reasons to keep him around (which mostly amounted to guilt tripping). Anyone who claimed to be some superfan of the game would know just how little reason the opposing tribe would have to keep him around. He's the worst type of player, because he is very emotional while believing he's strategic. So basically his entire game amounts to wandering around, looking for anyone who will know how awesome he is.
