I was very disappointed to see Jimmy apparently sniffing or licking what appeared to be some Heroin towards the end of this episode.

If Jimmy becomes addicted to Heroin, that will become a sub-plot that would seem to be an extrordinary waste of time (although it would probably play out in the 3rd season and wouldn't be much of a distraction in the single remaining episode).

But, I would still be very unhappy if Jimmy's addiction should come to pass at any time during the remainder of this series because an addiction sub-plot would likely prove to be very tedious. It has been done so many times in recent TV history.

It is also highly predictable and will likely end without contributing much to the story. What a shame that would be! I sincerely hope that the producers of this show pay attention to these threads and will heed the remarks made here.

There is so much going on in the various plots of this show, we just don't need to see any predictible sub-plots.

Damn it all to Hell. This show is so good. It would just be a crying shame if any season were to end with a boring sub-plot. After all, no one can really be certain when the series will end. It may end at any time. And if it were to end after a season that contained a boring sub-plot, that would just be a crying shame.

I have grown to admire - even love - this show and would be so very disappointed if it were to end badly. It has conducted itself in a superb way all through its lifespan. Please, oh please! Don't allow it to end afte an unfortunate season that ends trying to resolve a sad sub-plot.

Possibly, Jimmy will try a little Heroin but will not become addicted. That would satsify everyone's desire and would keep us all happy if I understand you correctly. In any event, I would certainly consider that to be a smart way for the show to handle Jimmy trying a little H - especially if it is in reaction to Angela's murder.

It would certainly be an appropriate reaction for Jimmy to dabble a little bit in H after Angela is murdered. It would seem very clear to the audience that Jimmy really loved Angela, even though he seemed incapable of expressing that love to her. Just as Richard seemed incapable of expressing his love to some of the women in his life as well. I don't know if we are to see that as being the result of their fighting in WW I. I would think that is a very plausible cause. The more I learn about the consequences of men fighing in a big war, the more I learn just how life-altering and debilitating they are.

But, bottom line, I am pleased to see that you and I both agree about the terrible consequences of a soldier fighting in WW I.  Both Jimmy and Richard seem to have suffered life-altering and debilitating effects of fighing in that war as well they should.
