Separation of church and state goes both ways though. It's also meant to protect religion from the government, which a lot of people forget. I'd imagine that's why people get time off work for religious observances and the like. There's absolutely nothing wrong with people being allowed to pray in public schools, IMO, as long as those schools don't support any one religion and let people pray however they want to pray. It's not breaking the separation of church and state if public schools don't necessarily endorse it -- but rather just allow it and don't show any bias one way or another. (i'm saying this as an uber-liberal that despises Perry/Bachmann btw @_@)
