As I was reading this I could’nt help but look back on mine and my husbands mariage and dating relationship! (please do not judge me or my husband in this story for we have both changed and gave our lives to the lord)
First of all I would like to tell you that I am 17 years old and my husband, Brandon, is 18 we have a little boy, Elijah who is 6 months old and we have been married for a year and 2 months(we got married on my 16th birthday, may 15th) we have our own apartment..etc..
Well we have had a REALLY rough relationship full of arguments and fights we even used to hit each other. Our relationship was no romance thats for sure to me it was HELL.
I met him at a rodeo he was a bullrider and i wanted to find that “true love” you where talking about and i thought i had!
We even tried to run away together but that didnt work out so brandon left for texas to work in his familys bussiness as a tankerman pumping oil and gas and etc.
Well I begged and prodded at my mom to let me go live with him and at that time he was so mean to me he would tease me about leaving me and i would get so upset i would threaten my life just to be with him.
My mom of course said NO and i told her i would kill myself because brandon said if i didnt get her to say yes he would leave me so she put me in the hospitol to teach me a lesson and im glad she did!!!
After that she decided if i wanted to go so bad she would let me so the day after christmas i arrived in texas to live with brandon!!!!
From then on our relationship went downward WAYYYYYY DOWNWARD to make a very long story short he was extremely jealouse i was extremely tired of it and we fought like cats and dogs, i couldnt go anywhere without him and when i did i had to put my head down just so he wouldnt think i was looking at anyone.
But one day he mad me so frusterated i tryed to stab myself with a knife and i succeded i stabbed my leg and didnt even notice brandon noticed before i did and he wrapped it up and a couple of days later we went to get it stitched up.
After that whole incident we went to live with brandons grandfather in louisianna everyone wanted us to be apart but we did and said anything to be together!!!!!
We fought there also and then went to live with his aunt in louisianna also and there it just got worse.
We eventually moved back to north carolina from where we first left and lived with his mom and dad (let me just put in this,the whole time we are trying to get pregnant) and there we still had fights and we hit each other but it got a little better and throughout these times i would fervently pray for gods help but no answer because i wasnt doint right with god.
We found out a month before my 16th birthday that i was pregnant and we were sooooooo excited even though we had stopped trying we were glad we where finally going to have a family!!!!
Well anyways the day before we went to get married he hit me, we had gotten into an argument and we went at it!!!!
We still got married of course and his mom and dad kicked us out of their house because we fought too much so we moved to lancaster ohio where things got worse again….to be short we lived in a trailer with nothing at all in it except our clothes etc, no air or heat, no electricity, nothing, after a week we got our water turned and electricity turned on but we had no money to get food or anything else.
Brandons mom once in a while orderd us a pizza and drink but i was scared for my health so brandon walked everyday to find a job so he could support us, once he found one he walked everyday miles and miles to get to work while i stayed home reading my bible trying to fix this whole mess not seeing what IM doing wrong!!!!
Well we found a place to rent and then moved from there to another aparment across the street all this time we only one time had a car and we had to sell it because it didnt work anymore and we needed the money so we walked EVERYWHERE, to get grocerys with foodstamps, to walmart anywhere you can think.
Well we ended up loosing our house and we were living in our car wondering what to do next so we ended up that night driving all the way to texas AGAIN his mother and father now lived there at this time so we stayed with them a couple of days then with his aunt and then with our pastor and from this point on our marriage got better!!!! we started going to church, we took marriage counseling and we endured so much pain together and no matter what happened we never abbandoned each other i might have threatened to leave a lot but i never did and he stuck right with me also.
We now have a wonderful apartment in texas which we’ve been living in for 7 months and we don’t hit each other, we have given our lives over to the lord and its all because of GODS mighty power and he put us together for a reason!!!!
I am telling you this story to show you that true love also means being there when you dont want to be, enduring through all the pain and that has been our whole relationship and now we also enjoy each other and selflessly give to one another our love and kindness!!!!!
I hope my story has helped someone, encouraged someone out there because no matter what situation your going through GOD can bring you out of it all you have to do is give him your all and he will heal every affliction, but be patient because GODS perfect will has to be done and thats all in HIS timing!!!!
