Mario, are scenes from the clips episode eligible for the Funny 115?

I ask because I just remembered the scene where Papa Bear is giving advice to John about picking-up girls, with the mock pick-up of Whitney where Papa Bear tells John to compliment Whitney on her ear rings, later followed by Whitney's comment that if a guy complimented her on her ear rings, she would have thought he was gay.

The emotional stable adults, aka Not Brandon, who spent the most time with Coach and Sophie all voted for Coach.

Perhaps Coach should have insisted that Sophie spend more time with Savaii.

Although to me there is also an undercurrent of "A diehard fan went on the show and screwed up, and now I'll never get cast because he ruined it for all of us!!!!!" buried in there.  Which is just ridiculous because Survivor doesn't want diehard fans on the show anyway.  They probably just cast Cochran to make an example out of him and to shut everyone up about this. 

IGN: There was a lot of talk on the show this season about certain people who were big Survivor fans, notably Cochran. But I got the impression, especially during the finale, that you certainly knew your Survivor. Did you go in having seen a pretty good amount of the show?

Sophie: Well, I feel like Cochran was the super fan of the season, but a lot of people in our cast were big fans. I've seen every season since the first one, since I was 12 years old. Dawn is a big super fan, and Jim is, and Papa Bear. So yeah, I've watched it since the beginning. And I think Cochran now likes to say that being a super fan doesn't help, and that's kind of his excuse for why, as a super fan, he did so poorly. But I really don't think that's true. I think if you look at the people who did well, it's the people who've seen a lot of Survivor. I think Cochran is the unfortunate exception.

Every time this woman opens her mouth I like her less and less.  Rick was part of her alliance from Day 1 and is obviously a big fan given that he applied 14 times, but she manages to ignore him.  Interesting that the "fan" jurors who voted for her get mentioned, the "fan" jurors who voted for Coach are ignored or criticized.

I think John made a mistake in flipping, but given the personality he displayed during the game and his limited physical skills, I think he did pretty well for himself.  Given her personality, I'm not sure Sophie would have made it as far as John if she were as limited as he was physically during the game and were on Savaii.  Moreover, from the interviews I've read, John's point was that no matter how much you know about Survivor from watching it, playing it's entirely different and that he climbed into a defensive shell an failed to adapt.  I think that's a perfectly reasonable point.  Dawn, after all, broke down crying on one of the first days and almost got voted out because people thought she was such a basket case.

And the idea that fans generally do well in a season when 1/3 of the cast -- Sophie, John, Papa Bear, Jim, Dawn & Rick -- are super/big fans isn't surprising.  A super/big fan had a better chance of winning this season than John had of picking the purple rock.

If Brian had not shot that puppy, I think she'd be the most execrable winner ever.
