So after digging around and finding the remote, I had to rewind to the beginning to make sure Wesley was the guy eliminated and who had the in memory of at the end of the show. Wow, served 2 tours of duty in Iraq, left behind 2 kids. I wish he had sought some help. I am sure there is something available on the base. Very sad. I hope the military does not deny his survivor benefits to his kids.

It's a safe bet that he had other problems contributing to his suicide rather than just losing Next Great Baker, but it could have been a tipping point. Out of all the bakers, I can see Carmello fitting right the best - they've already nicknamed him. I thought the winning stacked present cake was rather outdated and cliche. Seen it so many times before. The Santa cake, on the other hand, was fabulous with the exception of the bag of presents. Carmello needs to stick with sculpting men rather than women lol.

The stacked presents was a muddled mess. I hope Minerva is next to go.... only because I can't stand to hear Buddy call her Minerver anymore.

Posts: 1452 (12/20/11 11:35 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	It used to be that a death of one of the reality contestants was a huge deal to a show, prompting some networks to pull the series before it even airs. TLC just did a tribute at the end of the episode and perhaps that is the better way to go...Wesley's tragic death probably would have become a bigger spectacle if there was some big pre-announcement or cancellation. With so many reality shows on the air now (I'm waiting for, "The Next Great Sadist" as that seems to be the way things are headed--and I love reality shows, they just are becoming too ubiquitous with desperate themes) it seems that the suicide rate is probably not any greater for reality contestants than it is for the general population. RIP Wesley.

No way it isn't her. It's Heather (blonde) or Carmello that wins. I've been getting MORP vibes from Nadine, which is similar to what Dana was last season. I can't see it being anyone else.

Would the bakers have been faulted if one of those kids skated into their cake? This show is a trainwreck. I'm not sure I'd watch anymore if anything else was on.

Of course roller skating was something he did a lot in his younger days and he thought he was pretty good.

It did bother me a little that they make these 100's of pounds cake and then throw them off the roof or bulldoze them or whatever- just a massive waste.... but if the cakes are all that overdone, I would hack them to pieces too.

Although I do think whatever leftovers or what hasn't been destroyed are either eaten by the crew or given to homeless shelters/hospitals, but that's my guess.
