The guy has won 2 challenges in three times playing, so he can't think he is a warrior based on his challenge skills. And I'm really sick of hearing people claim that Ozzy is so arrogant, especially from those who are fans of the self proclaimed dragon slayer. Ozzy has confidence, no doubt about that but arrogance? He has been very humble in his post game interviews, if he is confident about his challenge skills, he is also the first to admit that he is weak in other areas. I'm an Ozzy fan, no doubt about it. Count me in Simone with the Ozzy love. People saying Ozzy is arrogant is like saying Coach is a warrior. Neither is true.

Ozzy can back up his words with his actions; therefore, he is confident, not arrogant. But arrogant dumbasses like Coach & those sitting in their mom's basement on the internet, who can only talk the talk & not walk the walk, refuse to acknowledge the difference between arrogance and confidence (hell, they can't even recognize the difference) are intimidated by Ozzy, so they project their own deficiencies onto him.

Ozzy isnt arrogant, he's just knowledgeable about his strengths and is proud of them/confident about them. But he doesn't, he admits that it isn't his forte. He would also claim he has good social skills. But he recognizes that he comes up short there as well. Ozzy has been gracious in post show interviews, has been humble and admitted that his loss at the final IC was because he froze up. He is a class act all the way and this whole "Ozzy is arrogant" crap should be put to rest once and for all. I will always be OFTW!!

FvF is where everyone says he 'got arrogant' but that wasn't really something that I saw. that being said I think people are being short-sighted here. I know this is the Ozzy fan thread, and everyone here wanted him to win, but I don't like seeing that he 'deserved' to win. He didn't control his tribe at all and had no real allies after the Elyse boot. I give him all the credit in the world for his RI streak (which was 10,000 times more impressive than Matt who didn't have to win every challenge) and for Ozzy fans it must be disappointing he didn't win the final IC. however, he did lose. when your entire game is challenge-based and you can't win the last challenge then you don't 'deserve' to win. (whatever deserve means).

Ozzy gave full credit to Sophie during the episode and at the reunion for beating him fairly and being strong and smart and capable. Then Jeff jumped in and suggested that maybe he "beat himself" (not to take anything away from Sophie's win -- bullshit). From that point on it had nothing to do with Sophie, and was all about how Ozzy psyched himself out, and it eventually evolved in post-game interviews into this whole thing about how his spirit didn't want him to have that money because it would have made him lazy and it was really just his subconscious looking out for his ultimate well-being, which is the most overblown and pretentious way of explaining a loss I've ever heard.

Winning challenges is just as much of a legitimate strategy as being strategic or social. Yes, he fell short and couldn't win the last one, but his run was nothing short of impressive, and considering he had pretty much the whole jury who would have voted for him, I absolutely think he was deserving.

Obviously something went wrong there. Giving credit to Sophie explains why she solved it so fast when she started working on the puzzle. Ozzie saying he "beat himself" is more an explanation for why he lost such a huge lead, not why Sophie then beat him. It makes sense; for all intents and purposes, he should have won, but he choked. Also, does it annoy anyone else that there's this myth floating around that Ozzie sucks at puzzles? How many puzzle-esque challenges has he won? Even Rob Cesternino said, when asking Ozzie why he lost, "Is it puzzles in general? I know you've done all sorts of other amazing feats; are puzzles an issue? I don't remember puzzles coming up at any other point this season other than in the very first thing when you and coach showed up..." Even though, you know, there was a huge two part puzzle challenge 4 days before the finale, and Ozzie beat super smart doctor Edna who was getting help from 5 other people... oh and the match against Cochran had a nice little maze, and then there was the huge puzzle he solved in Cook Islands, and he solved it despite starting AFTER Yul. But yeah, I can't recall Ozzie doing well at puzzles... Seriously though, that's how I know some of his haters are delusional; they have this image of him as some dumb guy who's only good at the physical part of the game, and so they seem to forget when he excels at anything mental. So when he blanks out on this final puzzle, idiots all over are like "Of course, dumb Ozzie is taken out by a puzzle; who didn't see that coming?". And then we get statements like: he's good at physical stuff, but he has no strategic or social game... even though most of the jury really wanted to vote for him. Bad social game = Russel = no one wants to vote for you even if you make a lot of strategic moves and win challenges. Good social game = people like you and want to vote for you at the end (regardless of if you've won challenges or not). Ozzie seems to fall into the latter category if you ask me (only Sophie, Cochran, and Albert wouldn't have voted for him, from the looks of it, and one of them would have been in the F3 with him).

I just think you're wrong about the season being about him. The finale became about him but the story of the season from an editing stand-point was more about Coach (and I'm no Coach defender).

Of course! if dawn had won all the duels and come back she would have got all the savaii votes easily and some upolu ones too. Or Keith. Or whitney and Jim even. same as last year with Mike, Matt, Steve, Ralph etc. that's why Im saying Ozzy's game was challenge based. because that's all that mattered. he had to win those challenges. if he did - he won. and he would have deserved it. if keith had won the first one and then the rest all the way to F3 - he would have won and deserved it as well.

The story the entire game was not just Coach -- it was Coach & Ozzy -- they had mirror edits -- when Ozzy was negative, Coach was positive; then they flipped edits around episode 5 with Ozzy becoming more & more positive & Coach more & more negative. It was emphasized several times in the finale that the 2 of them facing each other in the F3 was "the way this season is supposed to end." It was apparent to anyone with eyes in their head that no way was Coach going to win, whether he went against Ozzy or not in the F3; the only questions was whether Coach would redeem himself (as Ozzy already had, sacrificing himself for his tribe with the first RI trip & the HII at merge after being given the "selfish" edit episodes 1-4) after all his talk about playing honorably & going against warriors in the end (Coach chose to chicken out and not live up to his word, as he did throughout the season). Further, your explanation about Ozzy's game as being challenged based doesn't address my point because the girl who won actually had a worse social game then Ozzy ever has in 3 seasons -- she slept 14 hours a day & when she bothered to talk to people she was condescending -- she just sucked slightly less than the other 2 because she won the final II challenge against him -- it is exactly the story of Amazon with Jenna and Rob C.

I agree with you to an extent for sure but I don't think they went far enough with Ozzy. He didn't even get a confessional in the penultimate ep, you know. But yes, there were some good points Ive read about the edit of Ozzy getting better around the merge - but I also think Coach was negative before the merge. what was episode 5? Didn't elyse go home episode 5? he was pretty negative after the elyse boot and got a lot of bad commentary from other Savaii members. Also I don't think his decision to go to RI was seen as all that positive, but I guess by virtue of it not being portrayed as a completely idiotic move it was neutral. he definitely turns super P once he gets to RI the second time though.
